He was late to the gig - Key apparently is like O'Leary in that no one gets to leave practice early for anything - and he wasn't the original speaker lined up. It was supposed to be Thacker.
Buddy who went said Coleman told them they were all surprised Miami didn't take a knee. Said they are just focusing on Boston College right now, not thinking about bowl games or anything, and trying to stop Castellanos, who someone pointed out was from southeast Georgia (he went to Ware County).
He was also quite aware that Bowling Green got shutout by the other Miami last Saturday.
They had a place for Coleman to spend the night before going back, but Key wants everybody in house at a certain time, like O'Leary.

Kinda thought that since it's an off week, the players would get a couple of days off to rest and rejuvenate. And the QB Club got a Tech rep on the schedule because it is the off week. Oh well.

I don't figure Coleman at QB Club will warrant any TV coverage in Savannah, even after Saturday's miracle win - hell, I don't think even the Big Red 11 has anyone in sports after their sports anchor got busted for a DUI.

He was later than anyone has been since I got in the club - but he was really good.

Definitely loves GT - thinks we can be really good. Told me he thinks we can beat anyone on the schedule, including "them".

Dropped a few F bombs....sounded like an old school FB guy - all of the non-GT members I spoke to said they really enjoyed it.

WTOC and WSAV never are there - the kid from WJCL is there every week.

Heard a number of folks bailed waiting on him to show up.
On a tangent - I lived in southwest Georgia when the WSAV sports director was the sports director at WCTV in Tallahassee. Knew a couple of their folks and they said when he got fired from there, it was removing a cancer from the clubhouse.
You would think more TV folks would be there, just for the kids getting honored every week. It's an easy story and package to do.

Heard that Marco talked a little about Georgia.
Told my buddy I thought Ansley would show up and just start genuflecting all over the place, in tribute to Miami's no-knee-taking.

Key was scheduled for Macon TD Club last night, don't know if he showed or not. I missed the dinner due to a last minute visit by one of the grandkids. No mention on late news so no idea if he showed or not.

Glad y'all had Marco for a good speaker;Sounds like Key is following O'Leary's approach to keeping people on schdule.

Ansley introduced him. Went on and on about his GT career and his 14 year NFL career and added "and he got laid more than Magic Johnson"

Marco said Miami, as a wealthy 22 year old before the days of camera phones, was a hell of a time.

Sounds like someone needs to tutor Marco about what not to say in public. We have had enough of spurious accusations about coaches.
Sounds like we need to remind ourselves the burden of proof in our legal system is on accusers. Slogans like believe all women don’t square with a presumption of innocence. Their whole purpose is to remove that presumption. Mel Tucker is getting screwed by a social contagion that’s too willing to run with spurious accusations.

At least Savannah and Macon have clubs where speakers from Tech appear. Augusta has NOTHING like that at all.
We've had so many uga speakers the last 2 years....hell, still this year we have Jim Donnan and Herschel yet to come.
We'll have 2 Ga Southern speakers to just 1 GT speaker this year.

I assume the mutts have some kind of club here in Augusta, but there is no Tech club (although there used to be) and not general catch-all college football club.

Face it… this state is shot full of love for dem dwags. IIWII. Just makes it sweeter when we win.

You can start one. The folks around Lake Oconee did that recently. They were previously forced to go to Athens or Milledgeville(?) but realized there were enough Tech fans locally to create their own. The Alumni Assoc. will help with that. Somebody just needs to step up.

There used to be one, but the guy who more-or-less headed it up was frankly not liked by many people, including myself (LOL). I am sadly not the organizer type, but your words ring true. Surely somebody around here could do so. I need to check around.

GolfTango18YankeeJuliet may be able to help you with that.
