This uga commit is obviously a can't miss. That's what the auc says.

With this kind of no pressure hype, this kid may end up being better than Ron Powlus of Notre Dame fame! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

He will get eaten alive in the cesspool unless he is a Heisman finalist as a freshman.

Re: UGA Recruiting

p_w, do you remember in Feb 1984 when ugag signed what many considered the top class in the country. It included the last (and biggest) of the Browner boys. And the #1 QB prospect, a kid named Jamie Harris. Well, he was a bust, several never made it academically and we broke a 6 year drought in Athens that fall.

Re: UGA Recruiting

yep, I'm sure we're better off with Ball than a five star qb rated #1 in the country. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/werd.gif

Re: UGA Recruiting

Cycle, no I don't really recall that. Maybe that's the real point.
Annointing these kids while in high school can be very unfair to the kid, but funny regarding the "school", I mean ugag.

I hope he never throws a pass for U[sic]Ga that hits the ground. And by that, I mean that I hope every pass he throws is intercepted and returned for a touchdown.

To hell with Georgia and their new preppie yuppie white bread QB. He's from Texas, and I don't see any horns

Hell yeah SBP, bring it on! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rockon.gif

Good point. How hard did Texas recruit mr. everything?

I thought Joe Cox and Blake Barnes were great future QB's at UGAg. My how fleeting UGAg fans can be. Those two are already has beens. Looks like they might as well transfer out since the next Todd Marinovitch is coming out of Texas. Everyone remember robo QB that was supposed to be the greatest QB ever to hit college football? Hadn't ever had a cheeseburger cross his lips?

If I were Cox and Barnes, I'd be feeling awfully unloved right now and would start getting my things in order to get out of the cesspool. I'd transfer somewhere where I'd get an actual education. Cox left Duke at the altar, maybe he can beg his way back.

Yeah Marinovich's dad rode him so hard the kid just went wild once he got to the pros, another case like this could be Tim Tebow, a nice homeschooled kid with all the hype in the world, don't know how he's going to handle that first frat party at UF or the first time he wins a big game and gets "special congrats" from sorority girls.

From what I hear Texas recruited Stafford very hard and continues to do so even though he's committed to the mutts... maybe, we should send Texas some extra cash. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

Then let's hope they can pull a "reverse-Perriloux" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

I hear the mutts lost a recruit to Michigan today... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

Carlos Thomas. I'll just bet that the true fact comes out that UGAg REALLY didn't want him because he wasn't good enough to play there.

Maybe he wanted to play in front of 110,000 people at Michigan, 107,000 at Penn State, and about 102,000 at Ohio State - instead of that "tiny" Sanford Stadium.

I can\'t stand it !! - Who cares?

Sometimes we just feed those bastiches with our posts. JMHO.
Get over what they do and focus on more pleasant things in life.

Re: I can\'t stand it !! - Who cares?

Hateing UGA is one of the more pleasant things in life.

I don\'t reply often but I can only say

hating them is Ok but I think u missed my point. Never the less - carry on.

My original comment was more an observation of how the ajc has given this kid hardly a chance to grow from being HS qb to a big time college one.
I don't rip uga recruits for just being that.

I understand your original comment

Most of my "ire" was directed at the carrying on after your post. I hate those DAWGS more than you will ever know and it sorta galls me to see us expend any energy (good or bad) toward their "stuff" - any of it. Some folks in here just love to beat the drum about what UGAG did or didn't do and it seems we might be better suited to focus on our own stuff. But as I said, carry on - its just a message board. Thanks for starting a post that got a rise outta me - I don't post often and thats probably a good thing!! LOL!

Re: I understand your original comment

Gotcha!
I am right there with you on the other things you said!

I agree with 'to hell with Georgia'...but would we be saying the rest of this if WE had signed him? Guys, this sounds like a lot of sour grapes. We need some recruiting successes of our own like this one.
