Maybe we can learn something

Maybe the coaching staff can learn something from the Michael Vick debacle this year.

If something has already been posted about a Vick to RB parallel, I apologize for missing it.
Either Vick or Greg Knapp or Jim Mora was damned and determined to turn Vick into an "NFL quarterback" this year.
Those that have even a passing (no pun) interest in the NFL know how disasterous this attempt has been.
I am sure it will be said by Vick and his coaches that he is right on schedule with the transition, but I won't be buying it. For my money, Vick was the most exciting player in the league when he used his God given gifts. Those gifts were the only reasons that he is a professional football player, imo. Trying to be somebody he isn't has made him one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, imo.
All of the drills and repititions in the world will not turn him into Payton Manning.
It's sad to say that Vick's natural style of play won't allow him to have a long NFL career. To that point, maybe he has already taken too many shots and he can't do what he used to. That would be very unfortunate, but Mike Vick or anyone else that I know of has to use the abilities he has in order to be successful.

My point is the correlation of this to Reggie Ball. If he is to be our quarterback next year, I can only hope that he will be allowed to run an offense that suits his abilities.
I don't think we have seen what that is over the last 3 years.

If this would happen, I believe he will have his best season with us By Far!

What offense is it you think better suits Reggie's abilities? Just asking, not flaming. I agree that you can only change players so much and then you've taken away the strengths they have. But I think there are differences between Reggie and Vick that are bigger than the similarities.

First of all, Vick can be successful in the NFL but the Falcons offensive line sucks. They can't protect him and they can't open holes for the RBs consistently. Atl runs when Vick runs, so the defense gets too spread out. But a team that concentrates on taking away Vick's running, can shut the Falcons run down. Also the Falcons really have no WR corp to speak of so he has no help there. Personally (as I assume is obvious from the above) Vick is all ATL has.

Tech has more weapons than Reggie so we have to use him to complement our other players. If we went to a wishbone or option type of attack, we waste CJ and to a large extent PJ probably because he doesn't have the spead of most option RBs. At least in my opinion.

My biggest issue with Tech's offense is simply red zone execution and lack of any big plays. I don't think that's a function of our style as much as lack of speed at RB and failure to use any other WRs besides CJ to get deep. Hopefully we will see that change.

Very fair, NC.
Couldn't agree more that we have to get the ball to you know who. However, I am not one that blasts the Falcon receivers. I like Jenkins and White and Crumpler is in the top 5 at TE. A better throwing quarterback would make the Falcon wideouts much better.

Really, I am trying to we do something different (vastly) with Reggie. If this offense does suit him the best, a change has to be made.
I was really referring to make Reggie run the ball more.
