Props to him. He believed NIU could beat us, and they did. His OL really punched our defense in the mouth. They played smart, by continuing to run the football when it was working. That also shortened the game and allowed them to be close enough in the end to ultimately win it. NIU didn’t go for any stupid 4th downs. He didn’t let the fans talk him out of the higher percentage call. Then when it was time to take a risk to go for the WIN, his team executed the play that was necessary in that moment.
That’s what good coaching does. You don’t talk about finishing in the post game presser… your team ACTUALLY finishes. Dan Quinn used to talk a lot about finishing as well, FWIW.
