I genuinely have no idea who will win that fight. Going to be great fun. My timing sucks- I'll be in Vegas the following 2 weekends, so no way I can make it out for that fight. I've seen Conor fight twice. Incredible atmosphere at the fights.
Mayweather will take him apart
It's boxing, so the all-time great boxer will win. Connor has a puncher's chance...but so did 49 other full time boxers and none connected.
Mayweather wins easy. I'll still watch.
Mayweather will dominate him. You're talking about one of, if not the, best boxers of all time against someone who's never seriously boxed on a professional level. It won't even be close. If I was a sportsbook I'm not sure I'd even take bets on Mayweather.
I'm still excited as hell about it though, and I'll be rooting for McGregor.
And the fight will be just as boring as Pacquiao
Some points on McGregor's chances:
- He can train against great boxers. Then he'll be going into it just like any other boxer who's faced Mayweather. (Granted way less experienced in boxing.)
- MMA requires a lot of the same abilities as boxing--agility, endurance, timing.
- He's an unknown quantity as a boxer. Great athletes are great athletes. I think LeBron James would be pretty good at volleyball.
- Mayweather's like 41, surely past his athletic prime. Will he train enough for this fight? Remember young Tyson versus old Tyson. (Granted that Tyson's boxing style is completely different.)
No way dude. McGregor is going to go balls to the wall.
The only way McGregor can win is if he knocks Mayweather out (which is possible). However, I think Mayweather is too competent of a boxer and too fast to allow McGregor the opportunity to land enough knockout punches.
My only hope when I watch is to see if McGregor snaps mid-bout and just starts grounding and pounding Mayweather. He'd be immediately DQ'd but whatevs. Just turn to the crowd and Russell Crowe/Gladiator them then get paid.
This I would pay to see.
Mayweather is no dummy. The contract will be heavily in his favor and I'm sure there will be stipulations where McGregor loses all his pay if he steps over some lines.
Don't rob me of my hate. It's all I have left.
It's not your fault
I want McGregor to win but I wouldn't put my money on it.
I think everybody's in this boat.
How lame is boxing if a dude who has never professionally boxed before can come in a beat the sports GOAT?
