Floyd saw McGregor had nothing to threaten him with, so he played very little defense for the first time in a decade or more. Can't compare Pacq stats to McGregor and it be an apples to apples comparison since Floyd approached them differently.

Live I thought it was a tad early stop, but not horrible. On review, Conor was out on his feet after that first right. It was a good stop. 8 oz gloves saved this thing from being over even more quickly.

My statement has nothing to do with the Ref's decision to end the fight. My statement was about the judges and how they had scored the fight up to that point. McGregor won the first three rounds, it was obvious. Everyone watching all thought the same thing. Yet, two of the official judges didn't see it that way. Seems fishy to me.

This. I saw the "it wasn't THAT bad" stuff in a few different places overnight after the fight and I really don't get it. After round two, it was pretty much all Money May. Give McGregor the respect and props and ________ he deserves for what he did, he earned it - but he did get his ass beat last night. While he was slipping in and out of his boxing shoes to throw a few hammerfists and "have fun," he was getting beaten worse with each round and the show began turning into a clinic.

Also, despite the fact that some of you somehow believe McGregor wasn't about to get knocked THE öööö out at the end, I honestly think Mayweather easily could have laid him out but held back. Unguarded, dazed and nothing between his face and the fist of the best? pls

you watch a lot of boxing? because i'm guessing those judges watch a little more.

I don't think it was because of pressure from higher up but rather because they didn't like the unorthodox approach McGregor was taking. They probably saw all those hammer fists and clenches from behind and just gave the early rounds to Mayweather because of that, not because he was hitting McGregor more.

Most boxing purists were not happy about this fight taking place, and I'm sure the judges were part of that group.

It was 6-3 Mayweather. Everything after the 3rd, he won. That's 87-84. The guys saying Money won 2 of the first 3 were seeing something that I didn't see. I wouldn't be surprised if some judges took a point away for the hammer fists.

I had it 6-3 too, but it's hard to see on TV sometimes what's landing. I realize this when they do the slow-mo replays. Also may have been biased by a heavy McGregor crowd. The judges have a much better view. So maybe Floyd did win some of the first three.

Correct me if wrong, but I don't think they can deduct a point for illegal punches, that's the ref's call

    I think a 10-8 9th is reasonable and 1 or 2 rounds could have gone 9-9

Could be right, I'm really not sure.

Winner of the round gets 10, regardless, in American style scoring.

    I agree on possible 10-8 9th.

Fun fact: The last time Floyd Mayweather Jr. lost a boxing match it was in the Thrillerdome.

They can't deduct a point (which would make the round 10-8 or 9-9) but they can absolutely give it to one guy instead of the other for stuff like that.

How badly would GGG or Canelo have beaten McGregor at 160 last night? KO within 4 rounds almost assuredly.

It was pretty good. The Bobby Knight one they showed before it was really good. I hadn't seen that one before. I remember parts of the story of his downfall, but to see it all put together in a 2 hour documentary was pretty interesting.
