There's a LOT of football yet to be played. Maryland would have to beat Virginia & Wake Forest. There is no other way & that won't be easy, with Virginia playing well & WF always a big pain with that running game.
Fla St would have to lose to NC St in their last ACC game. That puts Mary & FSU into a co-championship of the ACC. The winner, head-to-head goes EXCEPT when the loser of that game is ranked more than 5 places ahead of the winner in the final BCS standings. Maryland would be 11-2 & FSU would be 8-4, not adding in the Fla game yet.
U've gotta figure the Terrapins to be more than 5 places ahead of the Seminoles irregardless of what happens in the FSU-Fla game. Ergo, Maryland gets the Orange Bowl bid.
Another super good question is who will the Orange take to play Md (or FSU). It would be Pitt if Pitt wins Big E. It would be Miami if Miami wins BigE, but loses to VT. WHO would it be if Miami wins BigE & goes to Fiesta? It could be 11-1 Ohio St, if OSU loses to Mich. It could be 10-2 Tex or 10-2 So Cal. It could be the BigXII champ (Colo, Okla or Tx Tech).
As U can see, the scenarios are still a GREAT many teams for the Orange.
