That's pretty staggering how fast the Hurricanes can rebuild! They've got like 5 early entries which count against the '07 class. HC Randy Shannon means business in this recruiting game & will have to be reckoned with very soon.
Coach Johnson & staff better get real serious inre to bringing in ACC prospects. I believe they can do it & do it next season. They better or GT gets left behind.

Don't forget, Miami had some pretty good recruits playing this year, too.

Miami has lot it!

They have lost their swagger. They are no longer to be feared and are getting paid back for years of abusing the little sisters of the poor they humiliated in the past.

:laugher: Hell, even Tech has beat them 3 years in a row.

Go Jackets!

Shannon's proving to be a great recruiter, but they've had talent in Coral Gables every year... take a look at how Coker's classes were ranked. Some of his classes, like 02-04, were just as highly-touted as this one, they just haven't had a QB since Dorsey and their offense has struggled mightily. I don't see Pat Nix solving that problem anytime soon.

Don't worry Nix is on the job. Just look at what he did with Calvin.

I don't get FSU and Miami the past few years, I really don't. Xavier Lee was one of the most accomplished high school QBs in Florida's history and he left disgraced after being taken over to TE.

A similar thing happened with Ron Zook and Florida though. Maybe the kind of players Florida high schools produce need a disciplinarian like Urban Meyer? We'll see how Jimbo and Randy do the next few years.

Their swagger is coming back though...did you hear who their latest sponsor is?

....Glock!

...and Brandon Merriweather will be the Glock spokesperson doing the infomercials on the jumbotron.

I can tell you Xavier Lee was just a case of a very athletically gifted young man who was able to coast in high school due to the huge talent disparity between him and everyone else. His HS system did not do him any favors, since he was in the shotgun his entire HS tenure and from what I heard his reads where very simple. So he can to FSU behind the football IQ curve and was never coached up to the level of even an average DIV I prospect. Also there's a big rumor among the FSU faithfull that he never learned the playbook (much like the DBo rumor a few years back) and that contributed to his demise as well, here's hoping EJ Manuel does better (just not against us), as much as I hate to admit it we need FSU back on top if the ACC is to be the best conference in College football

For my side of the Miami story http://www.stingtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24825

We don't need FSU back on top to be the best conference in college football, but we do need FSU on top to be perceived as the best conference in college football.

That said, I'm not too scared of either school now. They have both gotten top-notch recruits for the past severl years, and they haven't done much of anything with them. Shannon might turn Miami around, but I doubt Bowden/Fisher will be able to turn FSU around.

We don't need FSU to be back on top to be the best conference in college football. We need to win our BCS bowl. We need our champ and the runner up to win their regular season matchups against OOC BCS foes.

And finally, WE need to beat Georgia.

College football is the most subjective sport in America, so perception carries a lot of weight.
