I think you can see by watching this game that both of these teams, while not world beaters, are legitimate teams. Virginia is huge along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and have just enough juice on offense to keep them in most games. We really missed a good opportunity to beat them up there but what I saw last night confirmed that Virginia can play with most anybody if they don't turn the ball over. Miami also has some big people along both lines of scrimmage and if they would commit to run the ball more they would probably have a better record. Harris has improved in his ball security but still tends to throw it up hoping one of his receivers can out fight the defender and make a big play. They just did not stay on the field long enough to rest their thin defense. I thought from a coaching standpoint, Golden employed a bad strategy. I really don't understand what happened to us in the Miami game on offense. They just are not that good on defense and we should have been able to execute at a much higher level. You have to hope that was just our worst possible performance and we now have it out of our system.
So Miami is done and if we do not beat Clemson we are done in terms of any ACC championship hopes. But you know you get what you earn, so we have to go earn it or accept that we just are not good enought this year.
Go Jackets!
