Michael Vick is fortunate to have attended a University that provides an education that an athlete can fall back on if things don't work out in the NFL.

VT grads everywhere are green with envy.

Vick's new job.

I'm pretty impressed if he can actually get a job in construction. There's no work in construction right now.

Say what you will, but I respect the humility. He's going back to work like any of us would have to do.

Yeah, we'll see. My guess is he doesn't work more than a couple weeks at that job, if at all. There is some team that will take a chance on him.

Being an owner of a construction company, beej is correct. But any decent project manager at any level in the construction industry wouldn't want Vick anywhere near his job. Why?

Because I don't want all the blue collar workers stopping their productivity to talk about the NFL, get autographs, etc. etc. He would be one giant destraction just because of the attention he would draw.

What about attention from potential customers?

I seriously doubt he has a degree. He is trying to get reinstated to the NFL. This is nothing more than a PR move.

working is actually a part of the condition of his parole, well he has to be at least attempting to get employed. since he is not reinstated to the NFL yet, he cannot claim he is trying to get a job there yet.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. Vick said that if he couldn't get a job in the NFL, then he'd just "move a few bricks" for his old friends. It has nothing to do with construction

(reposting joke from the other Vick thread)

all that press statement said was that he would work a fourty hour week... the way its stated could be taken that he would get a full time job, but could also be read that he will in fact work one fourty hour week.. im leaning towards that latter
