Mickey Andrews: Defensive Genius

What's more amazing is that they talk about not giving up any passing yards in the second half. How many passes did we attempt in the second half?

Typical F$U arrogance. Mickey Andrews is one of the dirtiest coaches in college football.

Wow, we had about 600 straight running plays, lost our starting QB, and then only cared about running out the clock after some turnovers.

Another one in denial.

"Is Georgia Tech’s triple-option offense as good as Florida State made it appear? Andrews didn’t seem to think so."
Andrews said: “The thing was, they had a spring and they had a whole season to work on their scheme. We had one week. That’s a disadvantage. I would say it would be more of that than [anything]. … they’ve got pretty good guys in place. And I think, too, people will learn how to defend it better, just like we would if we play it again.”

Just like we were on the way to blowing FSU out if Nesbitt hadnt got hurt. What he doesnt understand is by the time they a better scheme put together we will be running it better by then. What a bunch of sore losers.

And I believe that one was intercepted. The game was shortened just enough. If we had mixed in even three incomplete passes, there might have been enough time left to make FSU's play selection a little less frantic. The plan worked!

From CNNSI, we had the one pass attempt by Shaw in the second half (which was picked off).

Well then I suppose they did "shut down our passing game" in the 2nd half.

Nice job FSU.

:)

I can see the article now:

100% of GT's passes in the second half were intercepted! FSU's pass defense is insane!

So he failed to mention they shut it down by giving up so many points in the first half that we chose not to pass. Minor detail.

Nice bulletin board material. Think about how bad we're going to beat them when we've been running this for another full year and they get one more week of practice on it. Let's see, in 2.5 years when Josh is a senior, we'll have 130ish more weeks of practicing our offense than they will of facing it. What are the excuses then?

Yeah, by Johnson's last season at Navy, his outdated offense couldn't do a thing against Army, Air Force, or Notre Dame.

The comments in that article were enjoyable.

I've gotten a lot of comments this season about Techs "boring" offense from friends of mine. I love this offense. I have always loved option offenses and I love seeing defenses struggle to defend it. I guess I might be biased as a fan of the school with the "boring" offense.

It still boggles my mind that CPJ has run this offense for years which should mean other coaches have as much tape of the offense that they need and we can still beat a top ACC team with only 6 passes.

The Criminoles need to just fess up that they werent disciplined enough to be where they needed to be on defense and let us put up 31 points with our "boring" offense.

You've obviously not spent time in Tallahassee. Logic is not very pervasive there. Venereal disease, however, is.
