Mike Leach's comments about PJ's offense

this was said while PJ was at Navy but with Leach on the doorstep I thought it was relevent to bring it up.

2.) Paul Johnson has compared his Navy offensive scheme to what Urban Meyer and Rich Rodriguez do at their respective schools, except that they run their QB out of the shotgun. Mike Leach has said what Johnson does is essentially the same that Tech does except Navy runs the ball and TT throws the ball.

Chris Hatcher said the exact same thing when he accepted the job at GSU. " Our Air Raid offesne is just like the triple option but we simply pitch it forward."

I made the comparison of Johnson to Leach to someone just the other day. Not only are the offenses similar, but they also seem to be very like-minded in their approaches of the game. Not many coaches shoot for the endzone like TT did the other night...just like not many coaches will run the ball on 3rd & 16 and EXPECT to get a first down.

I'm pretty sure when he said that, it was intended as a joke. Everyone in Statesboro was so happy to have him--but so sad to see the option attack leave.

i was lucky enough to be around valdosta for a few national championships and tons of passing yards....

air raid was replaced with Hatch Attack..

p.s.- not sure if this was brought up....but Mike Leach was Chris Hatchers o coordinator during his playing days at valdosta state...........wonder if ole' hatch kept a copy of the old play book!
