I agree! We shouldn't have that rule for marijuana use. Given how many close games we lost last season, I can't help but think having Mills grind out an extra .5 YPC might have made the difference between a W and an L in at least one of those games. The goal of our football program is to win games and having a talented kid tossed out for unnecessary rules that have no bearing on our academic or athletic reputation is senseless. No one wins in this situation, but it's tough for me to fault Tech on this one. Three times is a lot.
Yes, marijuana use is very normal, and likely no more dangerous than alcohol (or even less dangerous than it.)
But the fact remains that it's against federal and state law and, more importantly, against team policy. In life there are a lot of rules that are dumb but we still have to follow.
You can't get caught breaking the rules once and get warned, then get caught breaking them again and get told you're on thin ice, then get caught breaking them a third time and expect to remain on the team. If that was the case you might as well not even have rules.
Yea, öööö that shit.Regardless of what our opinions are on weed, he ööööed up THREE separate times, knowing what the consequences were. It is what it is.
know where your mind is and it's not on footballI read the thread title as milfs.
Negative? Negative in that 95% of its readers are the DWAGNATION and they are saying can't believe they threw that guy off the team without him even going to jail. Ok, I get it.Yep, that’s the attention Tech gets from the AJC

Yeah, I'm with you here. It's not like he committed a comec against anyone.I won't wander into the "should weed be banned" discussion, but Tech should absolutely allow players kicked off the team for substance abuse return. If someone faces a demon, overcomes it, and returns, that person is better off for the experience. In fact, Tech should actively recruit those types of people.
And your point? So you think he should have also gone to jail? I thought the A stood for Atlanta. My bad...Negative? Negative in that 95% of its readers are the DWAGNATION and they are saying can't believe they threw that guy off the team without him even going to jail. Ok, I get it.
We did it with Joe Hamilton when he was working in the recruiting department.I won't wander into the "should weed be banned" discussion, but Tech should absolutely allow players kicked off the team for substance abuse return. He might have been worth two wins, Tennessee, and maybe UVA. Certainly would have changed the time of possession. But the other BBacks didn't fail miserably.I'm pretty sure last season would have been different if we had him. We all had very high hopes and he ööööed us as well as himself. Bigcry. It's over now. I wish him the best. Unless like phd said theres a chance we can bring him back this is no different than inspirational stories about Vad Lee after he bailed.

The difference is that hiring Joe was an AA decision. A lifetime ban for DM is a hill decision. We did it with Joe Hamilton when he was working in the recruiting department.
I think the pot of today is nothing like what we smoked, so I'm told. It's much stronger. If true, I don't think it's a good idea for kids today to think that being a regular user is not detrimental to trying to graduate GT. Of course, some GT students are bright enough to graduate while being on LSD their entire 6-8 years on North Ave.I don’t think marijuana is any worse than booze, but both are bad if not used in extreme moderation. As an old guy, you can really tell the difference in 60 and 70 year olds who moderated their use and those who didn’t. That is, the ones who have not already died from their abuse. I quit booze at around 50, so I’m kind of in the middle, health wise.
