:wow:Hey now! Randy Kennedy, a columnist from the Press-Register (Al.com), also noticed that Ga Tech got a commitment from a mighty good player in Wetumka, Ala.
QB Tevin Washington is pointed out to be #1 in line to be later on called 'the one that got away' from the large Alabama state schools. It is alluded to how an 'under the radar' Ala player becomes a 'star' immediately at other schools. Alabama has some very good players, but not a lot of them.
Alabama has been 'berry, berry goood' to The Yellow Jackets over the last 5 years.

. Anyone who was at Ladd-Peebles Stadium for the second round of the state playoffs will be surprised to learn that Wetumpka quarterback Tevin Washington was not one of the top-ranked recruits in the state.

Washington's team lost to McGill-Toolen that night, but his performance was one of the best in Mobile in years. Playing against one of the state's best defenses, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Washington completed 15-of-19 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. After an incompletion on his first pass, he missed on only one attempt until misfiring on his last two attempts late in the fourth quarter.

Nice.

I remember the last "steal" ...

... we got from AL. Scott Kennedy (related?) said that we got the biggest "steal" in the country in Michael Johnson. I'd take a full class of "steals" every year!
