More MJ

What an awesome article! I still remember the first time I ever spoke to him in practice. I asked: "So why didn't you go to Alabama or Auburn? Surely they were after you pretty hard?" His simple reply: "Anybody can go to Alabama or Auburn."

Michael Johnson's not just anybody.

Cruel World:

It also seemed like fate. The day after the Bengals drafted Johnson, they cut Eric Henderson, another hybrid end/backer. It was Henderson that took Johnson under his wing at Tech.

Be even more creepy if Henderson was the previous 93 and that is why Johnson got that number...

Sad when you think about it. And this is not intending to be a shot at MJ, but Henderson was a much better player for GT than Johnson was and has 4 years of experience under his belt with Cincy. Henderson was an absolute beast and he didn't have a strong interior DL to take the pressure off of him when he was at GT. Makes you wonder how successful MJ is going to be in the NFL.

Henderson had the experience as you said, but MJ has more upside. Don't forget that MJ came in to Tech as a TE and needed to learn the ropes. Unfortunately Henderson was the same role as MJ is going to be with the Bengals, but never really worked out as much as you would hope.

Wow, thanks for the read. I didn't really know much about MJ's personal life. He is a fine example of a young man.
