I was prepared to say any '.com' bowl.

But I think the worst named bowls are the ones that simply use the city/state where the game is played as the name --a-la Hawaii (what was wrong with 'Aloha' --Las Vegas (the obvious choice here would be 'Sin City Bowl') --New Orleans (well, Sugar was already taken) --Houston/Texas (bring back 'Bluebonnet' if nothing else).

At least Detroit got it right --The Motor City Bowl
...and Nashville --The Music City Bowl

The papajohns.com bowl name is so dumb. .com names were last en vogue several years ago, and then they start up last year with a severely stupid name. Just call it the Papa John's Bowl or some such, sheesh.

They all sound stupid. Just because some are newer and less rememberable to you makes one bowl no less marketed than the next.

1 - dropped it's "real", tourism-related name to go exclusively with the name of the current corporate sponsor.

2 - never had a "real" name in the first place

3 - contains ".com"

4 - contains more than 3 words (including "Bowl")
