There are div-3 teams with a nonexistent budget that can figure out how to punt the ball. Or how to call timeout when your 12th man obviously has no chance of getting off the field before the punt is snapped.

If it was purely a matter of just being outclassed by superior programs with better resources, I'd actually have some sympathy for Collins.

Yep. TStan allowing himself to be duped by Collins was one thing, but retaining him after last season should mean that his fate aligns with Collins's fate. There's no jumping ship for him.

I also have no confidence that any of the "big money" Tech alums have enough of a clue about football for their viewpoints to influence the next coach or AD--at least not justifiably.

Our complete and total lack of discipline, awareness, and accountability is entirely Collins fault. I and many others don’t need us to be consistently competing for National Championships. Every once in a while with a roster full of rare gem studs? Heck yes. But we are a different school and should expect different results. Our academic standards do not hold us back from competing at a high level on the occasional basis. Our buffoon head coach does.

You know, two years in I would've pushed back on these type of statements as hyperbole, but today I actually said aloud that I think he has a case for the worst college football coach of all time.

He just has absolutely zero redeeming qualities as a coach and every game he proves that he has learned nothing about how to improve as a head coach.
