How do we get the W? Thoughts?

Their OL seems about as bad as ours, lots of penalties on both sides, and a young QB..

what else?

They have very tall WRs. We really need our secondary to step up with jahi out and most likely dominque reese out. Also they have very fast linebackers. Hopefully they dont play very good assignment football. On offense we have to stop the options they run.

FSU has the #1 ranked defense against the run in the ACC --#7 in the nation-- as they're only giving up 80 ypg.

Another stat that I'm sure most are aware of, they're the third most penalized team in Div. 1 (UGA and TCU) --and are the most penalized team in terms of ypg (83).

F$U was lucky to beat VoTek. VT's starting qb went out on the 1st play from scrimmage and the backup went out later in the game too. VT was down to it's 3rd string qb. That's why F$U won...

FSU's running back got hurt last week, may not play this week. That helps.

They also gang tackle and play very undisciplined. That defense relies solely on the athletic ability of their players, not their smarts. If we hold on to the football, then we can shred their defense.

I'm worried alot more about FSU's offense, with Jahi out. They've got some good, but young receivers and they could very well throw all over us. This worries me, because I don't want to get into a shootout with them.

1. Don't turn the ball over
2. No turnovers
3. No fumbles
4. No interceptions
5. No sacks.

I think we need to bust someone in the mouth. I didn't see our defense intimidate anyone on Saturday. Lastly, maybe add more screens or quick slants to the play book. Every pass doesn't have to be for 30+ yards.

We need to go back to press coverage. We played soft on the edges all game long vs UVA. Their receivers just grabbed the quick out every time.

I thought we would have changed things up at the half, but I guess after losing another safety Wommack had no confidence in our corners.

That and we need Cox to take a couple of the hits on the dive play. Dwyer looked worn out in the second half.

Why is it when Nesbitt pitches it it looks like our rb has a ton of room...then we just quit blocking for no reason and he gets stuffed..for a gain of 1...on a triple option...eh...

Because we have serious problems with our offensive line blocking?

Keys to the game as is every game: don't fumble. If we don't fumble in key situations, we are 8-0 and in the top 5 or 10 at the moment.

Are you talking about A. Smith. I know he only had 51 yds rushing (season low). Maybe because he got knocked out of the game?? We need to check their boards to confirm!

By the way their OL is horrible! NCSU ran Ponder around all night and sacked him 3 times. Yeah- NCSU!
He was sacked 4 times last week by VT. Bet your A** we blitz more this week. We need some career lock down with our corners. Hopefully M.B. can hepl out on the tall receivers. You guys know about is vertical..right?

After last weekend, I'm downgrading my assessment of this game from preparing my field storming boots to cautiously optimistic based on our play and the offensive and defensive matchups. I think we'll win if we can consistently force Ponder out and if we don't give him the time he needs to hit his receivers. Also, we need the ACC refs to remember what a holding penalty looks like.

I think either Dwyer or Nesbitt will have a career day. And the Kool-Aid shall be flowing after that.
