he did not have to think about the Miss St game and executed brilliantly.

If he is equally brilliant after the 2 week buildup it will be clear that this kid is the real deal IMO. Anytime a true freshman is starting I am worried but at least he has the Miss St game experience to build on.

Jaybo IMO is not much of a step down from Josh. We should be fine.

Josh is more talented but I think Jaybo runs the offense more smoothly. I think that evens it out a bit if not entirely.

IMO, the offense is improving so much from week to week it's hard to know who runs it more smoothly. If Josh stays in the MSU game, maybe he looks just as smooth--or even better--than Jaybo did. After all, he took a quantum leap from the BC game to the VT game, and I expect he would have looked even better against MSU.

Anyway, we need 'em both. Hopefully we can rest Josh on Saturday, get Jaybo some good practice and have two guys who can get it done the rest of the year. Big advantage as sometimes our QBs are going to get dinged up.

that's until Jaybo has to run for his life behind a collapsing offensive line.

Once again, I wonder what people are watching.

Jaybo starts against VT and a 3 point loss is a 14 point loss. They bottled up Dwyer, and Nesbitt carried the team on his back. Jaybo does NOT have those athletic skills.

The light seemed to come on for the OL against MSU. THAT was the differnce, not Jaybo "running the offense smoother than Nesbitt."

I hope the light is still on for the OL come this Saturday and the rest of the fall.

Well, Jaybo did run the offense more smoothly, but you're right about the OL. You're also right that Josh can do things due to his athletic ability that Jaybo can't, but JS can run the offense and be effective for us.

:wow:

your crazy.

Heh.

I remember long ago somebody saying "Quincy Carter has more talent in his little finger than Joe Hamilton."

So far Jaybo has not been a step down from Josh. He just does different things. Don't forget that Josh has personally been responsible for a lot of turnovers. Now before you go postal on me, I am not janking on Josh. When Josh improves on his reads and protects the ball better, he will be awesome.

I agree. Jaybo is much more consistent. However, Josh is a better passer now and also can improvise when **** happens. Jaybo isnt as much of a threat for the big play (for either team). I am glad we have 2 QB that can move the ball. It will be interesting to see if one separates from the other over the next couple of years.

if we don't have turnovers I think Jaybo will be fine also if we can have some early success moving the ball.

In the VT game we were gutting it out and I think that would tough for an 18 y/o kid. IMO

Letting Nesbitt tough it out in that VT game was the best move. That crowd and that defense would have likely eaten Jaybo alive.

I just gotta beelieve that CPJ named Josh the starter for some reason.

But boy it sure is nice to have a backup that already has some game experience.

Make duke Puke.

If Jaybo doesn't turn the ball over like Nesbitt maybe we win the VT game. Ifs and buts candy and nuts and all that.

Josh clearly looks better passing and can turn the corner on anyone. He is a special athlete and I cannot disagree with him being #1. But he runs the option poorly right now. VT bottled up the middle because our option at that time was suspect. They dared us to beat them with it outside and we could not.

Duke will play nine up and we will beat them if we execute well and complete a pass or two into man coverage. If Jaybo, Andrew, and Dwyer stay healthy this game and execute like they did against MSU the blue devils will not be able to stop us.
