Probably used to be but since hitting somebody carries a 15 yard penalty and a mandatory ejection nowadays maybe not.

I wasn't joking. I seriously think that player safety rules have changed the nature of the contact portion of the sport enough that the advantage gained by teams that acclimate their players to impacts prior to the season are of lower magnitude than in the past. I wouldn't doubt that they could be offset by the advantages gained by additional depth, assuming that this robot can prevent nearly 100% of tackling based practice injuries as the product seems to imply.
