I really don't see much importance in our starting lineup.....that is as far as the backs position is concerned. I think there will be a good bit of subs and rotating, until the consistency is found. do see Dwyer getting some FB time, also agree that Evans will get some time. Don't know if RS'ing Watson is a good move or not, pending on how well our depth at FB ends up. Don't know if Dwyer is best at that spot or not, as I don't know much about that position it the TO.

Another question for you guys. Why would a guy like Wright get an Aback start, when Peeples is bigger at this point in their careers? Seems like Wright would get a RS before Peeples. aren't both about the same speed, minus .2-4 ticks?

You know, looking at that roster, I just realized that we are going to have one HELL of a D-Line. Johnson, Richard, Walker, and Morgan.

Did AJ Smith just become worse that Yandell? Heck, Yandell might start, but I'd still predict AJ to start over Yandell.

And, I cannot, at this point, say any True Freshmen will start over more experienced players. Wright or Peeples might start, but I just can't make myself say it. And, putting Brandon Leslie makes no sense to me.

I forgot about AJ smith and you are probably right about the Freshmen, but it is fun to speculate. I really wouldn't be surprised to see one of the freshman qb's come in and win that job.

Its nice to be positive but come down a little closer to earth-btw-I'll take 24 and Miami ,vs Tech next yr for $100

There is no such line-up that a FB, a B-back and a SLotback all are on the field at the sametime. You have TWO slotbacks and a FB or BBack position.

Allow my ignorance to allow more info on this thread. So the FB and Bback are the same position and purpose? I understand that the bback is behind the qb and center. Is Dwyer just being moved off the bback position because of Watson coming in?

So the FB and Bback are the same position and purpose?

They changed the name of the old fullback position to "B Back" because it's different than the modern use of fullback. Adrian Peterson played B Back at GSU.

This is EXACTLY the formation you will see next year. The Fullback is also called the "B" back. So like I said, the fullback and bback are the same position. Dwyer will be at Fullback and you will probably see Roddy Jones and Jamaal Evans as the two Slotbacks.

Watson will be a BBack or fullback at some point but he won't be starting this year or next.

i dont see why everyone rules out tyler evans as the punt returner. he has been a solid returner for the last two years and has been near tops in the acc in punt return yards even with gaileys lame return coverage. he also just recieved a scholarship so i feel he will not be going anywhere as far as that goes. also look for him and peeples to provide a solid back up in the two slot back positions. there is no doubt in my mind that the two starting slot backs will be jamal and jones with dwyer as the full/b back. tyler ran in high school so he is very familiar with the system.

The only thing Tyler Evans was near the top in the ACC in was returns per game and total returns, which he placed first in. Those stats, of course, are meaningless for a punt returner.

When it comes to meaningful statistics like average return (7th in ACC) or touchdowns (none) he's not near the top.

again that was mainly because of the way gailey had his returns laid out. he went for the block not the return. tyler always made the first guy miss and as ive said in previous threads its kinda hard with 9 guys breathing down your neck. he always had a quality return for what he was given.

also i think there will be a lot of different people in the back field. yes dwyer, jones, and jamal will get most of the carrying but look for a lot of people back there. at navy PJ's offense had 7 people over 400 yards rushing compared to our 2 people.

So then you basically just lied in your first post?

Has Willie White beefed up much since last year? I hope he is over 200 at this point.

If Tyler Evans is returning kicks next year, I would be surprised. Our problem with kick returns had nothing to do with our formation. It had everything to do with not having a playmaker as the return man.
