That was a truly great defensive effort for a team with a new DC. Even though we had nine returning starters, they have to learn to work together in a new system, and it appeared all the defensive players were in sync with one another.

I don't remember seeing any major breakdowns, and we had the waterboy playing at the end of the game. If most improvements come between the first and second game, we should be awesome on defense against Connecticut.

Suggs is a man among men out there. He hangs in the pocket as good as anyone Ive seen in a while.

Hollings is the first "true" tailback we have had since CJ Williams. I was sick of watching fullbacks in the tail of the "I".

A lot less arm-tackling by the defense. Technique seemed MUCH improved. We won't know for sure until we play a better developed team.

Great play calling after the early "run it up the middle inside the 10" philosophy was scrapped.

Not enough option plays. I want to get Hollings on the outside more.

Some key dropped passes. Better concentration needed. (shows in the illegal procedure penalties also)

Overall, I rate this game: 8.0 out of 10.

Great job guys. We need to turn it up a few notches for Clemson though. Go Jackets!!

I'm very excited about our passing game with Suggs at the helm. And if that doesn't work out, we can always count on Hollings!

We'll see how they do against UConn.

Why do you dredge up 6 year old posts? I don't think you were even born when Suggs was busy overthrowing receivers.

I think Kyle is actually being quite witty with this bump.

I noticed that Josh doesn't quite run the option like it's meant to be run. He doesn't read and hold and wait. I also think that his shoulder is sore.

Jaybo runs the option better but accordingly the players started fumbling. They aren't quite used to that instant decision point for holding on to the ball.

Bebe looked awesome, just awesome. The NFL scouts will notice that.

Who is most ready (freshman) to bring off the scout team in the linebacking corps? Somebody is coming up.

Our defense looked pretty tired out there. Is there a flu or something going around?

It's been quite a few years since we didn't have an imposing linebacker or two. We're very young here and now hurt too.

I thought all in all, it was a great first game and I think that JSU might be a pretty good team this year. Per..loux will be very good one day.

Wow, that's an old post. Hope Father Time is doing well...haven't seen him around for some time now.
