1) The booing of Chan was done by less than 10% of the fanbase. I was surprised it was so little actually. I sit near alumni that are 35 years old or less and I expected much worse. The vast majority of the booing was done by students.

I have been a supporter of letting things play out for Chan this year but I must admit that I wondered during the game, if an opportunity arose, if I would boo. It really wasn't that much however.

2) I made a special trip to enjoy a Thursday night game at one of the special venues for such. Apparently all those great ESPN games I've seen before were a bunch of hooey because Thursday night games absolutely stink at BDS. NIGHT games are good and we should do those all the time, but let's just drop the Thursday games altogether.

There is zero tailgating, zero enthusiasm on campus. Yellow Jacket Alley was embarassing and quite frankly I once again call for it to be totally scrapped. There was less than one person deep lining the sides for YJA on the 'path'. If anybody wants to call somebody out, they need to call themselves out first.

3) My tailgating spot has now been ruined by overly loud competing speakers AND a stupid cop that has to blow his friggin whistle for every car that drives by him.

4) Let's be honest. This class of Tech players were not hightly rated and quite frankly have overachieved. There are zero playmakers on the team. We have hard working young men that play okay as a team, BUT we have ZERO playmakers. Every game I've said the exact same thing.

One area that Chan doesn't get is that if your team is hurting, find a way to get some momentum back. Personally, I have nothing against our punt returner, BUT he is not taking it to the house. Take a chance on some burner yesterday and we might have had two go the distance, one for sure.

But otherwise, we generally have no playmakers.

5) The only playmaker I saw on offense is the freshman quarterback. He can really run and every defense I've seen struggles to shut him down. But good gollie, he is horrible throwing the ball so far.

Having said that, I have lost faith in Chan for one major reason: Why don't we bring in something else and at least practice? The game is over, let's practice with Nesbitt throwing the ball around. He's horrible so far, BUT TB is just not the answer. He's a fourth year guy and he just isn't going to do it.

6) We have no chance of beating UGA unless we scrap our offense and try something different. Put in Nesbitt 60% or more now.

7) Big Boi was excellent. The sound was messed up but you could hear his tunes just fine (upper east Kyle). I thought it was funny that the Swarm completely stood there motionless and stiff while the entire rest of the student body was dancing.

We got to enjoy quite a dancing show near us in the stands by the way.

I will say that putting Big Boi in front of the West Stands was a complete dumb decision.

8) I've learned that the sideline reporter at ESPN games does absolutely nothing during the game as far as finding out information. She did not move one inch the whole game. Her reports are completely scripted ahead of time. This is a joke.

9) Who is running the show at Tech right now? Putting Chan's don't drink and drive message out at that point was incredibly incredibly stupid. Oh wait, maybe DRad has made up his mind. He sends out messengers here and lets' that stupid message go up late in a terrible game. How friggin dumb!

That's because only 10% of the fanbase was left in the 4th quarter when they showed that.

I was not in the swarm, but I was next to them. The speakers were broken in the north endzone so you couldn't hear any music for a lot of the time.

I was in SWARM. The sound was so bad that you could barely tell what was being sung. They continually kept messing up the speaker in front of us. Pretty bad to not have Big Boi in front of either SWARM or the student section. Even worse for the speakers that did not work being the onese in front of the school. Need to make sure we get our money's worth from the production company next time. Make sure the sound system works.

I think the lack of enthusiasm on campus is a result of the way the season has gone. It wasn't that way the day of the BC game, the entire place was electric. When the season is going well, the enthusiam carries throughout campus

The lack of tailgating is just because it was a Thursday night game. Most people don't take off work the whole day to tailgate when they still have to goto work on Friday. The place was full of tailgates for BC, Clemson, Army, etc.

I don't agree that we should cancel YJA, for most games it's really crowded and it's nice for the players when people show up. But I do think it's a bad idea to try to do it on a Thursday night game. Since most of the people who would be there are either still sitting in traffic or still at work.

Thursday night games absolutely stink at BDS.

I've begun to dislike them myself. The traffic is horrible - on top of having to drive home from work to get the wife and then turn around and drive back downtown, you sit in traffic. My trip began about 3:30.

I'm not ashamed to say that I left at the beginning of the 4th quarter...besides the game sucking, I had a meeting I couldn't get out of at 8AM. When I've stayed for the whole game, I get home around 1:30 am. I do not like to do that anymore.

They're really a pain in the butt.

I actually enjoy the Thursday night games. Sure this particular game absolutely stunk --the game itself was horrible which is going to have an effect on the entire experience of the evening. A win on Thursday night makes me as a fan much more tolerable to the inconveniences that can go along with a weeknight game.

I love night games at BDS. The campus can be pumped for any game, I just found that for a Thursday night game, the place was boring and quite frankly I don't think that helps our cause with the players at YJA.

I will also add that I just don't think we get up for UVA or VPI . Once again I really think that we should split the conference into north and south. What good is it for FSU to play BC or MD every year instead of us? I think we get up better for our deep southern brethren instead of UVA/VPI, etc.

Regarding YJA, just do it when the games and game times call for it. There was absolutely nobody tailgating at Peters Park which generally means there is nobody in the area. Take away the band, the cheerleaders, and family members and YJA had 100 people attending.

SInce there isn't any tailgating anyway ya'll ought to use MARTA on Thursday nights.

As a student I always enjoyed the Thursday night games.

Of course, since I entered in 2003 and graduated last year, we only had a favorable result twice, and only at home once. :\

I hear you --I've been frustrated with the Atlantic and Coastal alignments since day one of the unveiling of the make-up of the two divisions.

FSU and CU need to be switched with VT and UVA.

The current division alignment had to be set-up with the mindset of keeping the ACC 'juggernauts' FSU and UM in separate divisions so they could meet in the title game --well as we all know that's not the case anymore.

UVA could take CU's place as the team GT would face every year from the other division.

Agreed on all points
Tell these things to DRad, with how bad traffic has gotten in Atlanta in the past 10 years maybe Thursday Night games are not such a good idea anymore?

Actually I see zero reason to have any annual alignment for Tech with any of the northern folks. Personally I am more interested in playing BC than UVA and VPI.

Certainly Duke and UNC could prefer playing the Wake and NCS teams often, but the rest of us have zero reason to play anybody annually.

Just split the division into north and south and get it over with. I don't care if we'd be underdogs and play mighty Miami, FSU and Clemson every year. Either we are good and motivated by our opponent or we stink and lose to UVA and Maryland anyway.

The thing I don't like about Thursday night games is in recent history we tend to lose them. National exposure doesn't really help when it's poor exposure.

I think the OP's comments about fan support from the campus are way off base. Anyone who was there Thursday could look at both lower end-zones and see them full as hell at the beginning of the game - student attendance has skyrocketed since stadium expansion, under the Gailey era. Tech is much more of a "football school" now than it was when I was in undergrad, and we're doing a much better job nowadays of breeding life-long alumni football fans now than we ever did. That's a tribute to a bunch of good decisions by our previous and current AD, with regard to student seating, on-campus game day activities, and other stuff, including yellowjacket alley, which is always a hot spot.

I've been to a bunch of Thursday Night games, and I thought the attendance at the opening whistle was likely the largest I've ever seen. Someone can check that, factually. But the simple fact is that it's hard to fight traffic to get to a Thursday Night game, so our attendance is always going to be lower. Put that game on a Saturday and it's a guaranteed sellout, and YJA is guaranteed packed.
