First, glad for the win last night and it is ALWAYS good to start with a W!!

Strengths:

Defense
1. Our Secondary is gonna be pretty good. Burnett is an animal back there leading the way.

2. Nothing needs to be discussed regarding the DL. One of the best in the country and top 2 in the ACC.

Offense

1. The way CPJ uses the WR's is going to do nothing but get better and lead to a big yards per catch number. Plus it is good to see them blocking consistently.

2. RB's have speed, speed, speed from what I witnessed last night. Jones has some serious wheels. Cox is a gamer and Dwyer will get 1700 this year.

Concerns:

Offense

1. I just do not see the umph from the majority of the OL. I think as we all know if you are not good up front you are going to get your asses handed to you. JSU did not provide a good test as we all know and many times there was deep penetration. PENETRATION kills the option. As long as they will come off the ball and knock the cold codded piss out of someone I am usually tickled pink. Hopefully they will get there.

Defense

1. LB's - we have gotten use to some very good linebackers in the past, Wheeler and Guyton for example. I think our LB corp enjoys knocking the piss outta people, they just got learn to get there to do the job. They are young and the future looks good, but we could see some growing pains.

2. Kicking game was not so good last night, but time will tell and I know CPJ will yank some ass if they continue with the miscues performed last night.

What does the year hold IMO, I think we will do well to win 7. I think experience and learning to run the option offense at break neck speed will take some time. Worst case is 5 w's and best case is 8 w's. I can realistically seeing us playing in Tampa in 2009 for the ACCCG. And hell, you never know if it clicks and the players build some early confidence it turns into a much better year than anticipated.

One thing I do hold comfort in is that we got us a COACH boys and it is damn good to see. The players will play to the emotion of their leader and CPJ is one firey, competitive individual.

It's dang sure gonna be fun watching GT football over the next several months beginning next Saturday in Bawwstun.

And Mover, if you have nothing intelligent to reply with, keep it to your damn self.

GO JACKETS!!!!

RM-2,
Good to see you posting again cause we thought you got washed off to see last week.
Our opinions seem fairly parallel on this team and hopefully CPJ will see his youngerns quickly become veterans.
After reading your thesis on the line, I still say there's a job for you on the flats.
hehehehe

Eight inches of rain will soak a feller. Yard needed it though.

I'll leave the job of OL to Mover, I'm getting to old to get out there!! LOL

Piss on you then.

You and I talked this morning, it's a shame that you had to go and post everything I told you. Seems you could make some of this stuff up yourself since you don't do anything.

Thanks for the analysis, Jeff. I basically agree.

I was disappointed in our special teams, but not including punting. I was also disappointed in our offensive line but was kinda expecting it considering the scrimmages.

The QBs (both of them) were much better than I anticipated. Jaybo is a freshman? You gotta be kidding me.

Son if I listened to anything you said I would be nuts. I spoke with someone in chat room who saw you before the game and he told me you were hammered before you even walked in the gate last night.

SO, if I want your opinion I will give it to you BOY!!!!

Hey, btw how's the Jenny Craig thing working out for you??

Esso, the kickin game will get better IMO. A lot of timing involved PLUS, CPJ will not put up with much of that long at all.

Gonna be fun rest of year. Ups and downs, but fun to watch!

If you want to drop blubber do the Atkins. You will be amazed. It's a little hard at first but it works. Lost 50 lbs of crap about 4 yrs ago and feel 20 years younger.

Google it!

Stick with it. The lbs will fly. I lost down to my high school weight before it bottomed out.

Gnats, he's being a smart arse! I'm actually doing Atkins and have lost about 25 so far.

Getting totally off topic here... but I was amazed by the Michael Phelps 12,000 calorie / day diet reported during the olympics:
Breakfast: Three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. Two cups of coffee. One five-egg omelet. One bowl of grits. Three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar. Three chocolate-chip pancakes.
Lunch: One pound of enriched pasta. Two large ham and cheese sandwiches with mayo on white bread. Energy drinks packing 1,000 calories.
Dinner: One pound of pasta. An entire pizza. More energy drinks.
I'm curious. What's does an offensive guard throw back on the training leading up to game day?

The problem with Atkins is once you cease the diet, you are extremely likely to gain it all back.

All diets are about that same way, TechGator. All studies looking at diets show you lose weight with the diet, then regain it immediately afterwards.

That being said--there are individual cases everywhere that are great testimonies...but this is looking at overall studies.
