Word is now that Chan is one of the 3 Miami finalists, and Pete ain't one of the three. Dunno if true, but if Capers or Mora gets it, then it might have been true. (I'd pick Capers, regardless of what happened in Houston.)

If Chan leaves, and I never begrudge any coach leaving to get paid, I think the two candidates on everyone's lips to coach here will be Jimbo Fisher and Ken W.

Whisenhunt would be my choice. I'd be ecstatic. Tough. Professional. Great background in both offense and special teams. Believes in offensive balance and a bit of trickery. Has been an intergral part of a successful program in Pittsburgh, and should still remember what GT is all about.

I would expect Rad to go with Fisher. Not only is there an LSU connection, but Fisher is from WV, which matches Rad's coal and steel Pennsylvania background. Fisher gets mixed results on his LSU offense. Some thought it boring and predictable. FSU liked it enough to hire him, when some at least around here thought the job was Hatcher's. I'll support him if he is named.

I may be wrong but I think most would be happy with Whisenhunt, however, every time I've ever seen his name mentioned (even during the search that resulted in Gailey) many folks implied that his heart is in the NFL.

I think Mike Martz may be up for the Miami job. I hope Chan isnt using this as some ploy to get more money. He needs to produce results first.

Don't think a ploy is the case here since he refused a pay increase this year with his contract renewal.

Well you must know something a day ahead of all the people on Sports Center and Pardon the Interuption whose hot topic this evening was the possiblity of Pete Carroll going back to Miami and the reported "talks" between him and Wayne Huizinga. But I should have known that the guy with all the logic has all the answers 24 hours in advance. How do you do it?

Chan ain't going nowhere. Wayne H is trying to do an old bud a favor and help him get a raise, but he ain't dumb enough to hire him as HC and then have to fire him in a year or too.

Chan ain't dumb enough to move to South Fla and get in the NFL ratrace unless its a huge cash payout. After all, he came to Tech to semi-retire.

The DAY after Bowden announced he was NOT hiring Fisher, he hires him. Figures.

Fisher was going to go to FSU to be OC....then Alabama offered him big $$$ (like $1 million per year reportedly)...that is when FSU "pulled the offer".

Word is that a succession plan to Bobby Bowden was worked out that would make Jimbo the HC in 2-4 years is what caused him to pass on the big $$$.

Wouldn't mind seeing the contract if that's the case. Bowden will only be around so much longer.

Why was Fisher in such a hurry to leave LSU for another OC job? Even if he has been promised the FSU job when Bowden leaves who knows when that will be. I would have thought that he would be a strong candidate for any HC openings that come up anyway.

BoR, I can't tell you how I do it, although if PTI is your ultimate you must not be hard to impress. Let's just say Mr. Ed told me.

The important thing is that you know that I have all the answers 24 hours in advance. Or further.

A source is a source, of course of course.

If you see hiscontract you will see why he turned down a increase. He gets twenty fivethousand this year for bowl and so many other perks plus a year extension on his contract.Dont think he is going to the poorhouse.
