Great night for football and all is well that ends well.
Durant Brooks may be good enough to kick on Sunday. Just needs a little more consistency. That kick out of the end zone was AWESOME.
Good job to Bell and co getting the 48 yard field goal to eeek thru.
For the most part Reggie looked good last night. They were keying on his runs but his passing game was good, especially the over the middle bomb to Calvin.
Calvin has awed us with his catching ability, last night he awed us with his running ability. Man among boys.
Guys, the option sucks, either work on it at practice or put it in the can. Its not an option if you pitch the ball early every time.
Dfense looked great as usual. Love to see Jahi at the corner cause he turns and plays the ball. Great pick he made.
Unsung hero on the D is Adam Oliver. Runs his motor at full speed all the time. In or near every tackle. Joe A gets push into the offensive backfield every play. K Mike and Wheeler are awesome backers.
Still need the D line to work on getting their hands up on passing downs. We are knocking down a lot of passes but we can bat down even more. M Johnson should be in on every passing down.
Oline needs to work hard. A lot of guys getting to play, some leaders need to emerge. One guy in particular is getting beat a lot and committed two major penalties trying to cover that up. Won't call his name but hope the coaches give him extra attention at practice.
Run blocking was still tough going. Except for a few breakdowns, pass blocking looked OK.
Kudos to the GT Band for their Throwback halftime. Did they pull off their uniforms in the stands? Didn't notice any difference in the pregame routine, but then they were tie died and bell bottomed at halftime with a lot of big hair. Those jeans may have been more 60's than 70s with the flower power stencils and all but late 60's early 70's would have been about right, same period as the throwback unis.
And those UNIs. Don't ever tell me those jersey were not 10 times better than our normal pee color!!!
