There are subtle differences in Key and Collins leading this team, not much, but the 2 areas we just can't overcome is lack of true D1 talent and depth.

Offensively: we do not have any perimeter weapons that can stretch a defense vertically. Most defenses are playing zero coverage, stacking the box and have all 11 defenders inside 15 yards of the LOS. Essentially they have less field to defend & more bodies around the ball and the LOS. Our offensive line is still very poor in technique and talent. We don't get off our blocks quickly or smoothly. We don't use our hands as leverage and are to upright in our stances. They are even worse in space when we ask them to pull and trap nor get to the next level of the defense. We simply do not reset the LOS at the point of attack but rather end up being pushed backwards more often than not. We do not have a RB that's a homerun threat. We have grinders and they are serviceable but no one that's explosive.

Defensively: it's the same old, same old. Poor angles, poor tackling fundamentals, poor eye discipline, etc. Our run fits and gap integrity is non existent. It's essentially backyard football on defense. Everyone just improvise on the fly. We can't play man because our DL is not a pressure unit. Our LBs are slow and cannot cover in space. The 2ndary, well, we all know the issues there, lol. With the bodies we have on the DL and front 7 in general, we need to try a oage out of Barry Odom's book at Arkansas and go 3-5-3 & keep things in front of us and react. It cannot be worse than what we are seeing.

Anywho......Just my $0.02 as I sip my beer and watch us look hapless yet again against an average as grits opponent.

Now get off my lawn

It’s quite simple. FSU is the more talented team across the board. I don’t understand why some handles can’t take off their gold colored glasses and realize that. GT as it currently sits is one of the least talented teams offensively in the country. There is a reason why GT is last in the ACC in total offense. It has nothing to do with scheme. Talent makes any scheme look good.

Yea, they are more talented, but are they the 1972 Dolphins? Nope. They are a mediocre 4-3 FSU team.

It doesn’t matter if FSU is 4-3. FSU has the skill position talent that GT currently doesn’t. GT is one of the least talented teams in the ACC currently. Go back to Athlons thoughts from other ACC coaches, and it looks 100% accurate.

FSU‘s 3 losses (Wake, NCSU, Clemson) are all against ranked teams at the time and now. They would beat NCSU if they played again today. So to call them mediocre is not exactly accurate. FSU can easily finish 9-3. All that’s left is Syracuse and an inconsistent UF team. Not bad if they finish 9-3, 8-4 considering the schedule which also included the win over LSU.

That's a lot of words. I'm guessing you think we are bad?

Was bored and it was half time lol. I think we are bad, but largely because of our own doing. We shouldn't be this inept against nearly every team we play, sans a game here or there.

I agree they're more talented but not 24-3 better with our offense looking they don't know what gaining 1 yard looks like. We should be in this game.

I agree with most of this. I do think McCollum and Blackburn are threats though. We got some reason refuse to play them on the same side together but it think our scheme and play calling is limiting their explosiveness as well as the obvious dogshit offensive line play

It was nice to have some of the Key-Koolaid, but it is starting to wear off

Talent? Rank FSU classes against Syracuse and Wake Forest! It’s coaching. Regardless if Key WAS THE GUY, he hasn’t had time. I don’t think he’s the guy tho as he has had time with the OL

Don’t really see the talent you speak of

We have talent it's just spotty talent and not in the areas we really need it quite yet. But, the talent we do have, we refuse to use it effectively. We don't scheme with our best players.
