I think overall we looked good last night. I was sitting in the stands for VA, Sam and ND. Here are the 4 things that worry me for future games, especially next week!

1. Our complete inability to run up the middle. They keep having to go the sides and try to get around the corner to pick up yardage. Run the option, shotgun to handoff and to the outside. The line is not opening up holes in the middle. If we catch them off guard or if their D is slow, we can pick up some good yards on the sides, but VaTech, Miami, Clemson, UGAg are not going to be slow! Come on O-Line, block, make some holes so we can run North South!

2. Going for the jugular! The play calling gets complacient if we put up any kinda of a lead. I read where someone said they take the pan off the stove before it's done cooking, or something like that. Yep, exactly right. The D never lets up, But the O get's a few points and begins to stall and play sloppy.

3. Arm tackling. It's gotten a little better, but they are still not wrapping people up on the first hit. The D is allowing the opposing O to break way to many tackles. So many times I've seen them not finish a tackle or a play and they give up a 1st Down. Come one guys, wrap them up!

4. Kick-off coverage. Last night was the best so far but lets hope we can continue to improve and play or best for VaTech

On a positive note! Punts were great last night! And several times we kicked into the endzone on a kickoff!!

I agree with your points, but would like to correct you on point #1. Its not our inability to run up the middle. We cannot run up the middle because our current starting offensive guards play like they are Little Red Riding Hood playing patty cake with an 8 foot tall Ogre. Our ability to run is there, our ability to block is NOT.
