be more realistic anyway. We could schedule Furman again and beat them 51-7, same kinda thing happened to us today, uga already sees us as a div ii program anyway.

This is without a doubt the stupidest post I have seen on any board I have ever visited.

Nah! The stupidest post is someone who isn't wise enough to sense someones elses frustration.

Personally, IMO, the stupid posts are the excuse makers for this coaching staff and those that hired it. This staff is hurting us worse than the death penalty.

The stupid part was to consign us to Div II based on one game. I can understand frustration, I'm frustrated too.

Ncjacket, with all due respect, I don't believe talk of division 2 is based on the one game. My intepertation is based on percieved higher academic standards which would make an already very difficult recruiting situation a WHOLE lot tougher. There are also a good many tkt. holders threatning not to renew. There is the ongoing stadium expansion going on now during a very difficult economy. Then there is the division with the coaching which if left in place could lead down a dark and lonely road. These things could lead us into division 2. Back some25 or 30 years ago this was actually something talked very seriously about among the administration!!

I think we are discussing the essence of what it means to be a Tech fan - desperation - we wait 20 to 40 years to have a shot at being the best in the nation, I don't think Tech administration is willing to do what's necessary to have a champion year after year, so here we are - the fans giving their money, sitting in half full stadiums, playing teams that don't care and have no heritage of winning, we end up deluded, waiting for next year to do it all again, but I love Ga. Tech and always will, it's just seems there is no progressive philsophy to make the football fans happy.

We won a MNC 12 years ago. UGAG won one 22 years ago. Our previous MNC was 1952. UGAG didn't win one in the '50s, '60s, or '70s. The sky is not falling; we got beat by an very good Georgia team playing its best game, by far, of the year, while we played with a lineup that was a shadow of what it was vs. Vandy. Shick Happens. Everybody get over it.

we dont need to go to division II, we can just take over Dukes role as the perennial bottom feeders, heck we could make duke our new rival. the toilet bowl should be fun every year. toilet bowl would be appropriate with the kind of s**t chan is droppin

I recant the root post of this thread, some of you are right. Div II would be ludicrous. It's just frustration, although, I do think we did get beat by Furman in the 80s

Division II is like swimming in the deep blue sea.
You're always going to be in over your head. We wouldn't be whippin Furman we'd be competing with them for DII recruits. The whole program devolves to the DII level and then where do you go? DIII! We're at the top and we need to try harder to stay here and be a top 25 program. There is no bottom here. No safe harbor.
