NC St. will regret passing up on hiring CPJ

why do you say that PJ hates O'Brien?
When Navy played BC a few years ago PJ felt that BC ran up the score on him at the end of the game. He apparently said something to O'Brien at the end-of-game hand shake to the effect of "I am going to bash your brains and eat your children". I will look for the article and post it if I can find it.

Edit: I must be wrong b/c the only game I can find Navy and BC playing is the 2006 Meineke Car Care Bowl and BC won 26-25

BC beat Navy 25-24? Wouldn't mind seeing what PJ had to say about him though.

OK, I have tracked down exactly why CPJ hates NC St. I was wrong about the O'Brien thing at BC. It was actually Amato when he was at NCST in 2002. Navy lost 65-19. CPJ felt that Rivers had played too late into the game and that the score had run up on them. Appatrently he told Amato after the game:

"I won't forget this, and I won't be at Navy forever."

He may not like O'Brien too much b/c when BC played Navy O'Brien "He said something stupid about Navy not giving them a correct depth chart and then after the game he said one of Navy's options is fumbling (or something like that)"

Thanks to the folks on the Navy board for not making me feel like a complete idiot. Heres the link:

So I guess when we play FSU we can expect CPJ to really open the play book!

Actually him and tom almost came to blows afer that game. What really pissed him off was that tom graduated from Navy but had no respect. Im sure PJ will beat some respect in to him come 2009. For that and NC State not picking him. Also NC State is using negative recruiting against us. That game is circled on the schedule.

Just got another interesting tidbit from the Navy board post:

"Before the 2006 Meineke Bowl I did a story on the O'Brien/PJ contretemps. NI and Phat, not surprisingly, are correct. O'Brien made a reference to defending the option by having one player on the QB, one on the pitch man and nine on the fumble. He also complained about the accuracy of Navy's depth chart. After the game he repeatedly called Navy's blocking "chop blocks" instead of cut blocks; when prompted to make a correction (since chop blocks are illegal) he refused."

This is from the same post I linked to earlier,
