I remember last year, I'm pretty sure it was actually you that made this same thread, law_bee - linking to a thread on their board where they discussed how bad off they were and how they were going to lose badly to us.

State will show up to play and will have nothing to lose. Amato's teams have a history of playing well when their backs are against the wall. We will have to be focused and play well to get out of Raleigh with a win.

I think the Pack have a lot to lose and that's why their backs are up against a wall. They've lost three in a row to Wake, Maryland, and UVA. They do NOT want to lose a fourth game in a row and if they lose to us then they have to win out to be bowl eligible (they are 3-5 right now).

They should have confidence because they have played very well against ranked teams and this may not be as much of a "must win" for us as for them.

That having been said I think our guys absolutely have to come up here (I'm sitting in a cafe in Raleigh about to head back to ATL - I can't believe I'm up here and I can't stay for the game but such is life) and play like there's no other games we can win to get us to Jax. They need to play like THEY are the ones who have their backs against the wall and come out ready to kick some Pack butt.
