As a Notre Dame fan first and foremost, and Georgia Tech fan second, I sincerely hope for a great game. While I do hope Notre Dame goes undefeated this year, if their one loss is at Tech, I would be happy that we lost to a great team. Good Luck Jackets, and I will see you at the game. It should be a good one. :2orglaugh:

In the spirit of the movie "Better off Dead"....

"What a waste of a perfectly good Tech fan".

Just kidding. That game will be a great one. I would worry about your QB though. I imagine he'll get knocked around pretty badly even if ND does win. Whether or not Brady Quinn can make it through this game unscathed will be an issue. Our defense eats stand up pocket passers for breakfast. Of course our secondary is at an alltime weak point, so he may be able to exploit that. Regardless, this game comes down to one person in my opinion and his initials are R.B.

I.M.O. Since both Notre Dame and Georgia Tech's secondary leave something to be desired it will come down to an offensive battle...Who will be the victor? We'll have to wait and see.

I can't speak for ND's secondary, but in GT's secondary the only thing to be desired is experience. GT has some quality athletes back there and the d-line is one of the best in the ACC, if not all of football and the linebackers are highly regarded as well.

It won't come down to an offensive battle.

Thank goodness!

If it comes down to an offensive battle we are in deep trouble. Quinn or Ball?...hmmmm, lets see.

Plus...we will be fortunate if we even have one returning starter in the secondary.

I don't like the sound of that. Is something going on with Kenny Scott

I wouldn't say we were in deep trouble if it were an offensive battle (which it won't be). Going by yards per game, ND's D was about on the same level has Wake's last year, about the 3rd weakest we saw last year. While, at the same time, GT's D is stronger than all but one of the teams ND faced last year, by a good bit.

Doesn't matter though, because it won't be an offensive battle.

can you PLEASE explain this

I think people kind of glazed over this in the spring, but remember that he missed a lot of spring practice to deal with academics.

He is working hard....hopefully all will be well.

For those of us who suffered through GT, there are some tough periods in there.

aren't all the grades already in? i guess he's having to do some summer school. i'm glad i wasn't kept on the graduation progress rate that these athletes are. it took me six years.

We'll see, but none of them outside of Kenny have proven that they can play yet.

Jamal Lewis was impressive early on blitzes and run support, but we haven't seen enough of him to be sure.

Wouldn't we know by now if he is going to be ineligible?

If I'm not mistaken, you can't use summer school to "catch up". You can use it to get ahead but if you're ineligible after the winter semester (or spring, whatever they call it), then you can't play in the fall.

Remember there are several ways to have trouble.

An athlete could have GPA req issues that are unique to the college they play for....not NCAA eligibility req's for academic progress which are less stringent.

For instance, you may not be able to catch up on credit hours for the annual credit hour requirement, but you can take something to help your GPA req. for the school you attend.

I should not have even pointed out he missed some spring because I am sure everything will work out. Remember that KMike missed spring last year and he played in the fall.
