Nebraska in the Gator Bowl?

Both Schlabach and Feldman (ESPN analysts) have us playing Nebraska in the Gator Bowl.

Thoughts on how we would match up against Nebraska?

This would be an interesting matchup. They have a typical "Big 12" team. Strong passing game. Pretty weak defense.

If we can slow down their passing game...it would be a good matchup for GT. No way they can stop our running game and the TO.

We rank 3rd in the country in rushing offense. They rank 38th in rushing defense. They rank 14th in passing offense...we rank 44th in passing defense.

Same template as the Georgia game, but Nebraska is nowhere near as good. I say it would be a blowout by halftime.

One thing that would worry me, just a little, is that the kids on that defense, at least those from Nebraska, KNOW how to play assignment defense. They've played against the option since birth, practically. Our backs are higher quality than anything they've faced, but the fact remains that they do know how to be disciplined.

Georgia was actually in position on a couple of our big runs, but Roddy and Dwyer made them miss.

A Navy fan on the hive said we're still running the CPJ offense in 3rd gear. There's a lot of wrinkles our offense has that's not seen at the high school level. And it doesn't hurt that our backs can make defenders miss in open field even when they do everything right.

GEORGIA TECH -- This team deserves to be in one of the top bowls, especially after beating rival Georgia, but FSU would bring a "home" crowd and be a lucrative matchup for the Gator Bowl folks.
Possibilities: Chick-fil-A Bowl, Gator Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl
