This ESPN article talking about Nebraska's coaching search mentioned that the Nebraska booster plane flew to Baton Rouge, apparently to talk to Pelini, and then to Atlanta. Unless it's somebody from UGA, my only guess would be they might be talking to Tenuta about a DC job there. Then again, the booster might have just had a business trip in Atlanta.

Wow, that makes this scenario that I found and posted a little while ago seem really possible...

Broke by that reputable source, Pigskin Football Guys.

Take a look at this information I received from an unnamed source close to LSU's situation:

1. Bo Pelini - hired as Nebraska's new football coach and will be announced either this afternoon or tomorrow. Will not coach in the SEC Championship game.
2. Jon Tenuta, GA Tech's D Coordinator will be hired as LSU's new Defensive Coordinator making somewhere around $600,000 a year.
3. Les Miles - Has accepted the Michigan head coaching job and will announce this sometime Sunday or Monday after the SEC Championship game.
4. LSU is in talks with Steve Spurrier about their upcoming head coaching vacancy

Those 4 scenarios would send major shockwaves through the CFB landscape. Very dissapointed if #2 happens.

Nebraska has contracted the services of an executive search firm based in Atlanta called Parker Executive Search to conduct the search for their next head coach. The Nebraska plane is picking up employees from this Atlanta based search firm to travel as they are involved in all facets of the search, including being in the room as the interview is conducted with the prospective coach. This why the Nebraska plane activity towards Atlanta. It doesn't appear any coach with Atlanta or Georgia connections pro or college is interviewing for the Nebraska job.

The search firm might even be interviewing Pellini in their Atlanta office. Hence the route of Nebraska to Baton Rouge (to pick Pellini up) and then to Atlanta.

That "reputable source" has existed for less than 3 weeks. How about we see them get something right first.

In no way am I backing what they have said at all. they say that have a "reputable" source...I'm just saying that given what was mentioned above, this scenario has a chance. If Pelini is hired by Nebraska it definitely has legs.

This was being discussed on the radio yesterday morning. Osbourne was in Atlanta to meet with the firm.

Why would a nebraska plane fly to atlanta to hire Tenuta for the DC job at LSU?

While Tenuta would do great things as a DC with LSU's talent, I do not see how a school would hire a DC before hiring a HC to replace a football staff.
