Nebraska stomping Illinios

20-7 stomping of a terrible team. QB dialed it up for 154 passing, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 Fumble.

Nebraska is closing in on mediocrity.

He is available for emergencies, unless you really need him.
I heard an interview with Rhule where he said the same things we heard last year. “Sims has been fully practicing for 2 weeks and cleared to play, but unavailable during games due to a foot/ankle injury.”

I’ve never heard of any other situation like that, yet two straight schools/coaches have given the same narrative about a certain player. Really strange.

I don’t know Sims, but I’ve never heard anything bad about him personally. I’m sure he’s a nice guy and doesn’t kick his dog etc. He is not a college football player. He is big and strong and fast and that leads people to think he is going to be a great football player. Well there is more to playing football than just being a physical specimen. I wish him luck in this life but the sooner he gets off of the sidelines and prepares himself for the rest of his life the happier he will be.

A buddy of mine's wife used to be his Sunday school teacher and raves about the kid. So out of deference to her, I try not to disparage him. Unless he throws a couple of really bad picks.

Actually that QB is awful. They play very good defense and Ill is not good.
Point taken. But I was careful not to say a better quarterback - just a quarterback who is not afraid to get out there and mix it up. I tuned in kind of late but what I saw was a quarterback who wanted to win - wasn't afraid to run for extra yards even when he was about to get slobberknocked - he would just spring up and run, not jog, run back into the huddle - couldn't wait to call the next play. I'll take a QB like that any day of the week over a Mr. Measureables who dry-cleans his uniform.

She’s probably right. Not every awesome human being makes an outstanding QB though. He’s no doubt a great kid, will probably be a fantastic husband, father and co-worker maybe even a top notch football coach. Nobody’s ever said anything I know disparaging his character unless it’s related to football and that’s really a different deal. He’s got immense physical talent just never going to translate into P5 QB excellence

He quit on his teammates when they needed him

He demanded a boatload if NIL money and a promise from Collins to not recruit a QB or accept a transfer QB that would challenge him for QB1 job, and then bailed on his teammates.

VERY HIGH CHARACTER INDEED

If you demand a raise and concessions from your boss and he gives in like a little bitch whose fault is it?
