Need a Blowout Next Monday

After OU's trouncing by WVa last night, we all need to root for a clear winner next Monday to keep Ugag from a share of the national championship. With Ugag's blowout of Hawaii and WVa's of OU, a close/sloppy game Monday could potentially vault Ugag to #1 in the AP/USA Today/Harris polls.

I'll be rooting for OSU, simply because I don't think even a close OSU win would lose them the #1 spot in the polls - A close LSU win might be a different story....

There's no way UGAy would get a share of the title ahead of USC anyway...

If anything, a close game would just keep the rankings the way they are. I don't think it would result in a lower ranked team jumped the current #1 and 2.

Isn't the point of Monday's game to make sure there is an undisputed NC ?

actually no. The BCS wasn't formed to declare an undisputed NC. It was formed to match up the #1 team vs. the #2 team. That is why the final BCS rankings comes out before the bowls start.

Technically, the voters still select the national champion. Its a given though that the winner of the title game has to be voted the champion.

Isn't one of the polls contractually "obligated" to vote for the winner of the BCS championship game? Seems like that was the story when LSU and USC split the NC in '02 or '03.

USC finished #1 in the AP if I recall correctly.

I am going to agree that UGA won't be getting a share of the MNC, no matter what happens. Because then you'd need to give a share to USC as well. And beating the snot out of the magical fairy warriors from never never land does not automatically make you the National Champs. It means you're better then the teams that Hawaii beat. It's like saying that I'm a whole lot smarter then UGA communications major. It doesn't really mean anything because most lower lifeforms, and a good number of inanimate objects are also a whole lot smarter then a UGA communications major.

The only silver lining from that game was watching Colt Brennan get his internal organs rearranged like a Picasso painting.

You guys gotta stop worrying about UGA man. Its like yall have a complex or somethin. Relax, there's no way they get a share of the title.

Correct, the USA Today poll members must vote the winner of tomorrow night's game as #1. The AP poll can do whatever the hell they want.

UGA's only real distinction is beating Florida when Tebow was severely hobbled. Hawaii's schedule included several close wins over VERY bad competition. Hawaii would have been severely beaten by any top 10 team. After that, they got pounded by Tennessee and beat Auburn.

Either team with a win tomorrow night beats this resume hands down.
