A Ugag-er sent me this.. how to respond?

"Navy hasn't beaten a team that finished with a winning record since the 2004 Emerald Bowl over New Mexico (7-5), one of only two teams - the other was East Carolina to open last season - above .500 at year's end the Midshipmen defeated in Paul Johnson's entire six-year tenure, a record he stretched for much acclaim and big bucks at Georgia Tech."

Oh, Don't Worry

Don't worry about responding. You probably don't really expect a response from yourself.

PJ's track record at GSU (62-10), as Hawiii's OC, and at Navy (with an overall winning percentage of .735) speaks for itself.

Tell him not to worry if he's so confident...

Navy went 2-20 the two years before PJ playing that same schedule. Now it's, what, 5 straight bowls?

Navy beat a Colorado State team that was 6-5 in the 2005 Poinsettia Bowl to make CSU 6-6. I don't think anyone has tried to argue that Navy was a top 25 team under Paul Johnson. Maybe you can ask how many Bowl games Richt won prior to becoming head coach at UGA. How many loosing teams did Navy beat prior to Johnson is a more valid question.

Tell him that CPJ instructed the other coaches that they were not to have winning seasons without his permission, which was not granted. They dared not cross him because it is well known in coaching circles that CPJ made Chuck Norris cry.

Paul Johnson's Navy teams often beat opponents so badly that they were tramatized for the rest of the season.

I'd tell him that he bones his sister and graduated from a school that prints their diplomas on toilet seat covers from bus stop restrooms.

Seriously, I think he's scared, because the majority of Gailey fans at the UGA game were wearing red and black.

You should respond to your Ugag friend that he should send that to a GT fan, because he obviously has you confused with one.

Here are the teams that Johnson beat with non-losing records...not so sure it qualifies as getting "beat so badly that they were tramatized for the rest of he season" scores...but still a win is a win!

2003
10/4 vs. Air Force (7-5) W 28 25
2004
12/30 vs. New Mexico (7-5) W 34 19 @ San Francisco, CA Emerald Bowl
2005
12/22 vs. Colorado State (6-6) W 51 30 @ San Diego, CA Poinsettia
Bowl
2006
9/2 vs. East Carolina (7-6) W 28 23
2007
9/29 vs. Air Force (9-3) W 31-20

Nuff said.

Why would you even answer a ugag fan? Why would you begin to care what he thinks about anything?

I'm sorry, my previous answer isn't entirely correct. You should probably respond with a few grunts, clicks and whistles, then spit some skoal and make love to a mule. You know, speak his language.

That might be the longest sentence I have ever seen in my life. Good to see that Ugag education actually is as bad as people say.

Well we only beat one team with a winning record this year so it's not that different.

Dude, this guy is a chucklehead. PJ took over a team that could barely win a game and took them to 5 straight bowl games after he took over (minus his first season). Coaching is all about trends. If you are exhibiting an upward trend, you are successful, if you flatline or you start a negative trend, you will not be working at the same institution within a few years. PJ brought almost INSTANT results to Navy after he took the head job. Navy had I think 2 winning seasons in the previous 19 years before he took over and made them an annual bowl bound team. And Jesus, this is Navy we are talking about; almost none of those kids are going to play in the NFL after their college career. Imagine if he shows the same upward trend at Tech that he did when he took over Navy? Man, if that doesn't get you exicted, what will? This guy is reaching for anything he can to try to downplay PJ's success. What a D-Bag.

Geetee is a U[sic]GA fan. He didn't actually get that e-mail, he wrote it himself and posted it here to taunt us.

What a D-Bag.
Who? The supposed Ugag-er or Geetee for expecting us to believe that he has a friend?

btw--if everyone could refrain from quoting geetee i'd appreciate it. i come into his threads to read responses and not geetee's posts but when responses quote his posts it counter-acts my ignore function.
thanks,
