If Miami beats Syracuse next week, it's SMU vs. Miami. Otherwise, it's SMU vs. Clemson. Miami holds the tiebreaker over Clemson because they beat Louisville, whereas Clemson lost.
I hate the new rules for making the championship that have come with conference expansion. Now it's a very high bar--Clemson may miss out with just one conference loss! And it can come down to scheduling luck--if you schedule the weaker portion of the ACC then much better chance you're in. SMU is in the championship but out of the top five ACC teams (us, Clemson, Miami, and Syracuse) they have played ZERO.
Under the old format, everyone within the same division at least got to play everyone else competing with them for a championship game spot.
