Okay everyone is speculating on the new HC. Let's have some fun with the assistants. Remember what we opine here will not affect the powers at be. They will do what they believe to be best. The HC will determine who does what for the most part.

DC - Giff
OC - Jeff Bower
Linebackers - Ted Roof
 
I know Lil Joe has been itching to have some time with the QBs, if he wants to spot, I'd love for us to give him his first shot at coaching.

He did so many good things for us as a player, we should return to favor to him as a couch.

He would probably rather COACH than sit on a couch but who knows!:D

I talked to Lil Joe prior to the NC game. He stated he is trying everything to get on staff. Would love to have him and Goose.

QB coach - Rance Gillespie
DC and DL - Giff Smith
Sp Teams - Charles Kelly
TE coach - George Godsey
LB coach - Geoff Collins if BJ is not kept
secondary coach - Geoff Collins if BJ is kept
OC - Borges if Tubbs goes to Ark
OL - who knows
WR - who knows
RB - who knows
 
My pick for O-line and yes he is my old roommate.

Mike Devlin with the Jets. He did a great job as Toledo's Oline and is making a name for himself with the Jets. yeah Jets suck but this kid can coach and he has strong ties to the Pennsylvania region as well and can recruit up in that area.


Would like to see Ted and Glen back but don't think it's going to happen

especially Ted and Glenn! I got an email reply back from Glen last year and he really believed in what Ted was doing at Duke. I hate it for them that it didn't work out. I really would like to see them land back at GT, but like you said, it's not going that direction. I pray they both land on both feet somewhere.

Can Collins even coach? He's been involved with recruiting at Tech and Alabama. What coaching experience does he have?

DC at Western Carolina for 4 years, where he focused on DBs and LBs.

DC and he played OLB.

oh and he coached under oleary too if I remember correctly (i think TEs?)
 
Would love to see Coach Charles Kelley get involved with our defense at some level.

He has done an incredible job with the special teams. He has held DC positions at Nicholls and Jacksonville State and led Nicholls to their first conference title in school history.

He will make a fine DC at a major football program down the road.
