He previously served as offensive coordinator for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas Jayhawks, the head coach of the Memphis Tigers, the head coach of the James Madison Dukes, the offensive coordinator of the Arizona Wildcats, the offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide, the quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the quarterbacks coach of the Virginia Cavaliers, the running backs coach of the Hawaii Warriors, and the quarterbacks coach of the NC State Wolfpack. This is obviously a joke. I used to debate Rip Scherer. The man was absolutely clueless. He was running the pitch toss sweep in the mid 80's when the successful teams like FSU and Miami were running vertical passing games. He didn't get it that his offense was 5 years out of date.

It amazes me that he is still making a living in football.

He is a nice enough guy I suppose, but not GT HC material.

This is a good joke his offense at GT strongly resembled someone we just fired. If we really want a new candidate , try Jason Garrett Dallas OC
