Keith Brooking was one of them

Keith Brooking was 12th overall pick in 1998.
Marco Coleman was 12th overall pick in 1992.

Calvin will be higher than either of them.

Where was Coleman Rudolph?

These are the only 2nd rounders from GT I can find in the past 25 years.

Coleman Rudolph- 36th (complete flop; run out of NY)
Daryl Smith- 39th (1st yr. starter for Jags)
Michael Cheever- 60th (career ending injury)

I'd swear that ELI was the first round pick of the Packers in 79 draft.

Great catch...the AJC was just back to 1982. I went back to 1979 and we had 2 that year.

Eddie Lee Ivery was Rd. 1-#15 to Green Bay Packers.
Kent Hill was Rd. 1-#26 to the Los Angeles Rams.

What about fridgemover?

Another question is: Who has left Gt early to turn pro (not including flunkgate)? Joe Burns is one.

Marco Coleman #12 and Keith Brooking #8 overall. Rudolph was an early 2nd round pick. Had Ken Swilling gone out after his junior year he would have been a top ten pick.

C'mon Barrel...you have to read all the responses first! ;)

As I stated above, Brooking was 12th pick overall....just like Marco Coleman. Rudolph was 36th overall.

Nat Dorsey left early. Don't remember what round he was drafted.

to answer questions above:

Nat Dorsey was Rd. 4- 115th overall
Joe Burns was not drafted

Our own John Davis was drafted in 11th round, 287th pick overall...by the Houston Oilers. What a steal that turned out to be!!

How about 'ole Pat Swilling in '86. Now he was a stud...

Or Lothridge...

Pat Swilling- Rd. 3- 60th pick overall. 1986 by New Orleans Saints.

Looking for Lothridge I noticed Rufus Guthrie...#10 pick overall in the 1st round of the 1963 draft by the LA Rams.

1964 draft:
Billy Martin was the 21st pick overall...which was 2nd round back then. Chicago Bears drafted him.
Ted Davis was 50th overall pick - 4th round. Baltimore Colts drafted him.
Billy Lothridge was the 73rd pick overall by the Atlanta Falcons which was the 6th round.

NOTE TO EVERYONE:
If you want to put this site in your favorites it really comes in handy to find this info. The player searches work really well....or you can just go straight to the year if you know it. Go to the bottom of the page to see all drafts from 1936 to 2005. Just click on the year. As I said...you can search by player name if you do not want to look by year.

Thank you! but I can promise you I wasn't a 1st rounder. I wasn't that good. So bad I went in the 11th round, but I had fun and had a great career.

Eddie Prokop 1945 #4
Larry Morris 1955 #7

Billy Shaw was the #0 pick of the 2nd round in 1961. I can only guess that means it was a supplemental pick of some sort.

In 1946 and 1954 we had 10 players drafted but no first roundrs either year.

Here is an interesting site with all kinds of draft info.
