Robert Marve, 6A QB of the year in FL, switched his committment from Alabama to Miami. I saw Marve absolutely wipe out Nease in the championship game and was the standout in the FL all star game. He is definitely the best HS QB I saw all year.
Hate to see he is going to our competition, but happy to see Saban lose him. Shula originally got his committment.

Do you think Nix had a hand in this decision switch?
If so, wonder why he didn't get him here at GT, unless the kid had academic probs.

we were on Threet so early and they are right by each other on the rankings so one would have probably knocked out the other

Isn't he a "combo" QB? It will be interesting to compare his development under Nix to that of the previous QB under Pat's tutelage.

Marve switched from Bama to UM after.......

.....Fanuzzi switched from UM to Bama.

Sounds like Saban preferred one over the other.

Sounds more like the kid was an old Dolphin fan. Commits to a Shula, then jumps back tot he Canes when the guy who screwed the Dolphins shows up.

We have one of the most loaded classes at QB in the nation, with Threet and Nesbitt coming in and we were after both extremely early.

I'm also glad to see Saban losing recruits. Anybody else think those "I won't leave Miami till hell freezes over" comments give great fodder for negative recruiting?

At Rivals combine he ran a 4.82 forty...and measured 6-1, 189. He posted a 26" vertical. He says that he has run as fast as 4.65...but just never at a camp/combine.
There is still no way I would take Mave over John Brantley...that young man is the full package.

Regarding Nix impact..it does appear he was the clincher. I hope that Rivals does not mind me taking one part of the interview out and putting it in here....who knows...it may sell a subscription for them.

,,,Nix may prove to be the clincher for the Canes.

"It went really, really well today," Marve said of Nix's visit. "He watched my highlight film with me...He's a personable guy that cares about players, a religious guy who cares – it's not just a job to him."

Marve says the Nix visit "helps Miami a lot. I love the whole coaching staff at Miami, the area of Miami. [Nix] is a guy I like who can help Miami's offense. I don't think the offense has been bad. I think it's just been some things here and there that have gone wrong."

"I think the offense will be really balanced," Marve said. "He wants to get the running attack down and throw the ball down the field, a pro-style offense. He answered all the questions and my parents really liked him."

I'm sure Nix success with Ball had a lot to do with that.
