Folks I didn't see this posted (though I admit I didn't do a completely exhaustive search so I apologize in advance if I missed it). You do need to have a registration to AJC online (free) to read it.

Nix to call plays this year

I am not sure if this is good or not.

If we win it is good and if we lose it is bad. IMO we have not lost games b/c of playcalling. We have lost games b/c of poor execution.

But I guess we will see what it looks like come sept.

U do have to register but it doesn't cost any money. At least I didn't have to pay out anything. U just have to jump thru a couple of hoops to keep AJC happy.

Very eloquently put. To be honest w/u, I'm kinda glad to see CCG show a vote of confidence in his Coach. If it doesn't work, he can always revert back. I also agree that a lot of our offensive woes were not due to CCG's play calling, but due to lack of execution. Saying that I'm going to backslide too, since as the wife and I sat watching games year before last, some young fella sitting in front of us told all of us in the immediate seating area exactly what play we would run on the next play. He was right on the money ALMOST every play.

At least now we have a chance to see what Nix can do (be personally responsible for) outside CCG's coattails.

Give the man the responsibility and let him prove himself.
I hope he succeeds.

This is a progressive move if Gailey follows through and actually delegates the job to CPN.

Question to ponder: Will Pat Nix call the plays from the sideline or the booth. I hope it is from the booth myself. I feel it will be a good if Nix can be isolated from any possible second guess 'looks' from Chan Gailey on the sideline.

I think from the booth if you read a little between the lines of the article when Gailey said to the effect of "give a field perspective versus a booth perspectice"

Yes Nix WILL call plays from the booth.

Check Ramblingwreck.com for their version of the story. It's a little more detailed.

That's why it's good to make a change. Probly a little too predictable. Heres to Chan letting loose of the reigns. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Well, you'd have to imagine that TECH has had someone in the booth. If it's Nix actually sitting there it's his butt. Voila! We have an offensive coordinator.

I'm looking forward to this change and hope Nix and Tenuta "up top" get us over the top.

GO JACKETS!!!!

Could the Offensive

production get any worse? I sure hope they work out the commo kinks before ND.(see uga 4th down game)

Re: Could the Offensive

I personally am very excited about the Offense being tweaked. Yes, it will be virtually the same scheme, but as was said earlier...It can't get any worse. I expect steady improvement and hopefully by the end of the season we would have averaged more than 25-28points per.
