Ok, so what did everyone think about the no huddle.

I thought we did a reasonable job for just rolling it out. It did seem to give us the ability to adjust at the LOS to how they lined up against us, and I thought the play calling got better as the game went on.

We also had a few big glitches, obviously. Hopefully something to build on going forward.

An overall thumbs up for me. Even with the disastrous pair of fumble sixes, we were able to get back into the game and with some better flow we could've matched them near the end.

Am I too optimistic here?

There's no point in a no huddle if you require check with me each play and still run the play clock down to 1-2 seconds each play.

I think it was great, and went a lot better than I would have expected for our first time trying it. To me, it's become clear that huddling up, subbing in a play, then running that play against whatever defense they put out there is no longer working. This gives us the opportunity to make significant adjustments based on how they set up, and it certainly looked pretty effective to me.

Other than the ability to adjust, which was stated in @coit OP

The problem is that the adjustments are still coming from the sideline. Hurry up no huddle offenses typically let the QB make the decisions at the line to save the extra 20s and prevent shifting defensive schemes

I don't think you are right about that.

Yes, hurry up no huddle offenses do. But this was not a hurry up no huddle offense, it was just a no huddle offense, and I'm pretty sure there are other teams who do something similar.

I didn't get to see the game today so I made an assumption on that one.

Keeps the defense from subbing.

We have the same look 9/10 plays.

5 OL
2 AB
2 WR
1 QB
1 BB

Not really much need for a defense to make many substitutions outside of guys getting tired.

They (defense) didn't seem to shift or sub. I liked it.

Sat in lower East this game. It looked to me like Miami subbed whenever they wanted. Not really sure what our "no huddle" did for us. Most no huddle teams do it for tempo and yet we managed to have like 40 min TOP.
