No "I" in "TEAM", but there is in "WIN"....

I wonder if he could win at Tech. I'd be willing to chip in some money to try to find out.

He would never come to Tech, even if we offered double. We would have to give him a war chest for players and staff similar to what he has at Alabama and we can’t even buy an aquarium ticket downtown without getting caught with our pants down.

The video is a statement on what it takes to develop a "WIN" culture. It is not there saying we need Coach Saban. In my opinion it is a good watch. It is pretty funny at times (the aroma of LSU stadium (booze), the Rolando Blackmon story, and a few others. But, what is really neat is when he stops being the fun guy and steps away from the podium and becomes Coach Saban. Total demeanor change. It is the seriousness of his message, that I believe we are missing at GT.

There's a "ME" in TEAM.

Great speech, and I love the mindset.

Let’s be real, though. Saban averaged 6.8 wins per season at Michigan State. He was 15-17 in the NFL. He’s an awesome coach when he has a talent advantage, but he’s not the type of guy to overcome a talent disadvantage and overachieve. Obviously he would win anywhere now because talent would flock to him, but had he come to GT instead of Alabama, I think we would have seen very similar results to what we had from the 3 coaches prior to CGC.

A lot of truth in this but to some respects he amassed that talent. I think it's easier to see it with Key, how inept he is when he doesn't have a massive talent advantage, a bunch of highly trained assistants and does not have significant resources to help him recruit. Seen this all throughout my career in different disciplines as well- seen many a hero, poster child, wannabee, fake it 'til you make its crash and burn when confronted with the challenges associated with succeeding when facing adversity. That being said, the man's lost more than 2 games in a season twice in 15 years his 1st and 4th. We'd sell our souls to the devil to suffer thru the misery of being 33-11 for 4 years and then lose only 14 games in the lext 11 years. Satan may have only been 150-50 in his first 15 years at GT, but I think we may have been able to get over the disappointment of losing 3 games a year on average.

Never knew Coach Saban was such a good speaker until I ran across this. We need some of this:

Watch this video then go hire a coach that has enough moxie to drive towards a goal like Nick Saban does.
Watch the video.

As Coach Saban States in the video: "my number one problem is the assistant coaches want to be friends with the players".

Is that a problem here? At any level?
Sort of like parents that would rather be a friend as opposed to a parent first.

Anyone else remember CTC specifically saying that he wasn't the RBs' friend while he was still here?
