it will not help us against Auburn, BYU, Clemson and F$U.

We are going to have to win 2 of those games w/ the players in Spring practice. So whether we get 18 or 21 or 25 I just hope CG is working on a game plan b/c if we are 0 & 4 or 1 & 3 this is going to be one miserable place.

you're right Lawbee, this class won't help against some of the teams, but mostly I think for the future it have a big impact. This coming year we have a lot of returning players that may get us to 7 wins, but that won't be easy. We have got to replace most of the secondery and then theres the QB position to deal with. Plus a very tough schedule. I really believe though with a lot of luck and a lot less injuries we can have a 6 or 7 win season.

If we go 6-6 do we keep our coach?

If we go .500 I think it will be difficult for CG to survive.

Like I said earlier if we do not go at least 2-2 after first 4 this place will explode.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I honestly believe CG stays one more year even if we have a losing season. Just my gut feeling on how things are being run at GTAA.

That is not my opinion on wheter he should stay or go, just that I think we have him for 3 years minimum.

lawbee, I believe u are right on about the importance of splitting the first 4. If we go 1-3, a major consideration will be "how we played", as to likelihood of a meltdown the rest of the way. Another key, IMO is how healthy we come out of the Auburn and fsu games. I think our chances are good, primarily due to improved lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. THWG

The sad thing is we ended 2002 with more question marks than when started and those are going to carry over to next year. Realistically, we wasted a year at the QB position, as the coaches failed to develop any of our talent there. Next year, I can't imagine a TRUE freshman playing in those first four games. Our running game is hinging on a knee recovering from an ACL, which is questionable at best. Defensively, we should be alright with the LB talent coming back. Also, how well does the staff remove the performance of the last two games of 2002 from the team's mindset will be a key.

An 0-4 start might be one that the "O'Leary" kids decide they don't want to bounce back from and the team could spiral out of control from there. That is an idea that would be too painful to think about. We have to split those first four.

maybe if all hope REAL REAL hard, you'll end your silence on why 7-5 in 2001 was so great......still waiting....or are you much too busy networking crossman and mccarty (great staff of 2001) since one has already lost his job and the other could go at anytime

Honestly, if there is not drastic improvement on our team I can't see where we can win six games
from that schedule. I predict that we will win four games and that is not guaranteed. I can't believe that Chan hasn't deemed it necessary to make changes on his staff. I fully expect this to bite him.

LawBee, you don't want Chan working on a game plan. Remember how he worked on the UGA game plan
for nine month's and came up with a 51-7 loss. It is a dangerous thing when Chan begins to think.

Like Moe said to Curly and/or Larry: "Everytime you think you weaken the Nation".

I pray I am wrong, but with the same S&C coach we have had the last few years I do not see us improving on the line of scrimmage. We have been getting weaker there every year it seems. We have made no coaching changes to improve things so I do not see how it will be better next year, hope I am wrong. I was not worried about recruiting last year, we had fewer to give and CG had late start so I was (am) counting on this year to be BIG in that regards. I thought we needed, on paper, a top 10 nationally rated class, but will not happen. Hope 3 years from now it will be rated that way on the field.

Tex, you're right we'll see how the class's are down the road. That's when you really can tell.

Obviously there weren't changes made with the staff regarding S&C, but that doesn't mean changes will not be made. Just because the same coach is there doesn't mean things will be done the same way in regard to S&C. Like you I agree that there needs to be improvement in that area.

Go Jackets!
