I don't know about y'all, but after watching the way the Jackets played against UNC last year, I thought that the program had finally turned the corner under Collins--especially given how closely they played Clemson. They then proceeded to crap the bed for the rest of the season. I am not sure what it will take to get this thing turned around, but it would be nice to see Tech win some games and find a little consistency. I am not sure that this will happen, but we'll see. Collins should be able to win at least five more games this year. I am not super hopeful that this will happen, but I believe that this is a probable outcome. I think he needs to win 6 more for Tech to even consider keeping him on, but if that happens I would be okay with it. Hey, it can happen!

The UNC game was more of a function of Sims running talent coupled with UNC crashing down on the RB on the RPO. Based on the App State game, I’m not sure UNC has adjusted. That should bode well for us.

As for CGC, it comes down to how many games does he need to win for you to EXTEND him by one year. Because if you don’t do that, he’s going to get killed on the recruiting trail. Maybe it can be done without changing the buyout, but he’s going to need the AD to at least give him 4 years on paper.

This is a weird post two games in. I smell a dwag interloper.
There was still a lot on the table last year after the North Carolina game. Everything is still on the table this year, and we are sitting at .500.

Actually this "unc question" is very relevant today.Even if by some WILD chance we beat ole miss, what does it mean? Based on last yr, nothing much.

Another question--what happens if we are 1-5 after 6 at the break?

A win means we are 1 win closer to bowl eligibility. That’s rather important this year.

Y’all need to also remember that part is the reason we did so well against UNC was they didn’t game plan at all for Sims. Ole Miss will not be taken by surprise. If Sims does well, it’s because the offense is just better than Ole Miss’s defense.

I’m not sure that is true. App State was running similar plays and UNC bit on it every time. I think their defense is just bad.

That very well could be. I just remember that was the talk last year, both by our coaches and theres. The fact that they didn’t adjust pushes the narrative in your direction though.

that would mean Ls at home to UCF and Duke, and that would be ööööting the bed. Not gonna win five of the remaining six (UGa, da U, FSU, UNC, VT, UVa) if we can't win those two. Might win two or three of those, but not five.

I think Duke could turn out to be one of the better teams in the coastal

could be, but I'd still expect a 4th year GT coach to beat any 1st year Duke coach. That's my expectation. Used to piss me off that Johnson struggled against Cutcliffe.

That always pissed me off too , Cutcliff was a great coach but he had a smugness about him
