I won't kick a man while he is down, all I can say is I saw how quick a program can turn down when Dooley left (and let's all admit you weren't even quite that high when GOL left). I know it seems harsh to let a coach go after one year, but I would have been disappointed with the Gailey hire if I was in your shoes, and I thought that BEFORE he ever coached a game....
 
Gee, 94dawg, you sure you're not a Tech "fan"? You sound like a lot of the "fans" on this board.
 
Not everyone on this board holds those sentiments 94 Dawg... The similarities you mention concerning Dooley and GOL are pretty good ones...

We stunk up the place on Saturday... but you can be certain we will be back next year...
 
Beleive what you will Belly, as far as Dawgnation is concerned you can give him a lifetime contract.
 
94 Dawg, I will give you credit for being able to smell blood and go for the kill, not just one game but in recruiting also. Thats why I keep bringing Coach Van Gorder's name up as a star Head Coach who could change everything in a hurry! Plus bring Rodney Garner with him as Defensive Coordinator. We all know he could sell gas furnaces to Amazon Indians! With some daring on our part it could happen.
 
Stateline, that would be an improvement, but (I hope) you are wrong that it could easily happen. I think BVG wants to remain a DC for a while and don't think Garner would leave again unless it was for Auburn.

Van Gorder may be an answer at UGAg when Richt leaves or a IAA program but not at TECH.

94 Dawg, I did not say it could 'easily' happen, just with the daring to invade the enemy camp with the $900,000 for a HC and whatever it would take to bring Garner over as DC it could happen. After all this is Georgia Tech and not Slippery Rock that would be calling. Just my opinion.
