game for 08.

We were suppose to go to Army, an away game.

So why are we insisting on adding a home game, and then saying we have to schedule a G-W (or whomever) because better schools will require us to go to their place later?

If we were going to Army, why can't we go somewhere else this year, and have them return the game?

VERY hard to beelieve something could not be worked out, even if dates must be shuffled.

Heck, my suggestion was the we go TO UAB. It's a short, easy trip. Legion Field would accommodate all the fans we want to bring, and we would avoid having to play another D-1AA opponent. It's also a game we would likely win, although FSU's troubles with the Blazers might suggest something else.

In any case, I thought this would have been a cool trip to make. Legion Field has a lot of history, and it's been a while since I've been there to see a game.

I don't understand why we don't just try to do a neutral site game, but I can understand why we want another home game. It's all about the revenue. We make more money on home games than away games (a lot more). Thus, it is better for us to have home games than away games.

Of course, I wouldn't mind scheduling a neutral game with Kentucky - maybe where they play the Music City bowl?

Hmmm...because it adds more to GTAAs bottom line than any other option.

I think the issue is with other D-IA teams wanting a home game. Kentucky, for example, has a full stadium from season ticket holders. All those season ticket holders will pay an extra 50 dollars for another home game no matter how crappy the opponent. A neutral site game against Kentucky in the Dome or in Nashville would have been great, but I doubt Kentucky could have earned more money.

We would also lose our shirt if we only played against UAB once away. Really, there's no comparison between a D-IAA at home and UAB away.

Money is the reason for a home game.

One of the problems we as fans have with this is we don't even know what date we're talking about as the ACC schedule isn't out. You have to have an open date the same day as whoever you want to play for starters. If we give an away game to a BCS school with no return date, we lose money potentially. If we get them to come here, we can't give them a return until something like 2012 or so.

The other issue is there has to be someone who wants to play us. Tech isn't considered a patsy, and we will also have a completely new offense. If you're a KY or someone like that, why do you want to play us?

It's simple, actually. It was the option......

......that would piss off our dumbest fans the most.

That was funny.

The game is a win-win. Momentum is contagious. A few wins in a row and perception changes.
