Not that this matters (option QB's)...

but, as long as we run the Option (and assuming that we don't throw the ball more than 15 times a game) our QB whoever he is will NEVER achieve 1st team All-ACC.

Even if Tech is 12-0 and the Option QB runs for over a 1,000 yards and leads a ground assault for over 4,000 yards for the year with zero turnovers.

That is because (as recent history proves) the best QB(s) are the ones with the best pure passing numbers.

Take this year - I am not going to argue that Nesbitt should be the 1st team all-ACC QB. He has been injured (missed some games); he has turned it over a few times and hasn't exactly excelled at passing (although his "QB rating" is quite good due to his avg. yard per attempt) but there is a .00001% chance he will finish ahead of Russell Wilson of NC State (who is quite good - but is the QB for a losing team).

All I am saying is that - it shouldn't be a "one in a million" that Nesbitt gets more votes than Wilson, but the brain-dead voters will only look at the passing stats because that is how it is "has been". Stupid F***ers!

Joe Hamilton takes a swing on a bottle of scotch, tosses it out the window and waives hello.

I don't know about that. Certainly it will be harder for our QB to get the recognition, but if we burn through the ACC undefeated, I could definitely see our QB making it. It will depend a lot more on team success than it would if he was a traditional, pocket passing QB though.

Tommie Frazier thinks you're nuts.

And Jamelle Holieway agrees with him, on this one topic, for certain.

Eric Crouch probably thinks you're wrong.

And Darien Hagan, Vince Young, and Tony Rice are shaking their heads.

What do Greg Hill and JR Revere think though?

If we beat UGAG and win the ACC, I'm not upset becauae my QB not being 1st team All ACC.

I was about to say, didnt Hill Rush and Pass for more than 1000 yards one season? I think that would at least be honorable mention. How about Sewak's former option QB turned spread option SR. Jayson Foster rushing for 1600+ yards and passing for 1200+ yards last season winning Division I FCS MVP?

Nesbitt is an AWESOME QB but you guys have not seen anything yet.

Tracy Ham:

All-America quarterback who led the Eagles to the first two Division I-AA national championships... One of two football players in GSU history to have his number retired... Born January 5, 1964... Still recognized as one of the greatest collegiate quarterbacks to ever play the game... Named to the 1986 Associated Press and Kodak All-America teams and was chosen the ‘College Player of the Year’ for three consecutive years by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (1984-86)... The only player in college history to run for 3,000 yards and pass or 5,000 in a career, and was the first Division I-AA player to both run and pass for 1,000 yards in a season... Will long be remembered for his performance in the 1985 national championship game against Furman University when he rallied the Eagles from a 22-point deficit in the third quarter to beat Furman, 44-42, in one of the greatest comebacks in college football history... Totaled 509 yards of offense that night, completing five touchdowns passes - including the game winner with 10 seconds left in the game... Following his playing days he held four NCAA and over 50 Georgia Southern records...

The QB's will get plenty of attention. The players who won't get the honors they deserve in GT's offense are the A-backs.

Eric Crouch won the Heisman only 7 years ago with 1500 yards passing and 1100 rushing. Nesbitt is easily capable of putting up similar numbers if he stays healthy all season. Nebraska had 315 YPG rushing and 135 YPG passing, which is very similar to the numbers I'd guess for GT next season.
